From a streetscape worthy of New York to one resembling Minneapolis.

Boo. If it were higher up, I might not mind it so much.

Yea -- a lot higher -- might then resemble Kuala Lumpur

I didn't realize they were expanding their current building in conjunction with this. It appears they built over their small surface lot.

Hate the bridge, but love the view of the Hancocks.

Are the suspension cables going to remain exposed? I like them.

I'm hoping they remain exposed too. If a skybridge is going to be built, that's at least the way to do it. =)

Recalling a conversation I had with a friend who works for Liberty Mutual, I believe they're redesigning vertical transportation in their existing building with the addition of this new building. That's why the core is so large.

The toilet core of the existing building was just gutted and rebuilt for big bucks, and modernized onto new stacks. Used to all be on the old 1937 and 57 risers.

Once the new is complete and everone moves over, my understanding is that the existing headquarters office space will/may be gutted (at least floors 3-10 as the cafeteria on 2 was just redone.)

New vertical transportation may be more along the lines of brining the stairs up to modern code. I'd assume the 2 elevator cores (7 cars total existing) would remain.

^ Those shots were from Saturday (what a gorgeous day that was), while these are all from Sunday morning:

Nice shots KZ. You certainly get around. Here is my last update for a while, but I look forward to returning on break and seeing how all the projects are doing at the end of July!

Thanks, you too. I had a car for a couple days and decided to make the most of it...I'm excessive like that. Best of luck to you in NC!
