Re: St. Cecilia Parish Hall Addition (20 Belvidere St.)

Looks like an unnecessarily showy entrance to a parking garage.

Yes, but now if you want to cry about it, you'll have a nice room for that!

Re: St. Cecilia Parish Hall Addition (20 Belvidere St.)

They seemed to have stopped work; I mean no evidence of much, if anything, being done over the past two months.

And if the garage wasn't there, it would be even more of an abomination. Who owns that garage, anyway? Maybe if it comes down some day, the city can demand a linkage payment to fix what they did to St. Cecilia's.

The garage is part of the hotel I think.

It's the Hilton Back Bay's garage. It's not going anywhere.

This is the worst thing religion has ever done.

Junk. Note the total absence of even the most simple detail. Looks like it was built from a kit.

I walked by this the other day and could do nothing but facepalm.

Looks like one of my freshman studio projects.

It's begging for a sign stating "THIS IS NOT A SUBWAY ENTRANCE!"

Re: St. Cecilia Parish Hall Addition (20 Belvidere St.)

It's been a bad couple of years for religious architecture in the area. Between this, the Mormon fortress in Cambridge and the Korean congregation's Alien Obsidian Cube in Brookline, there's a lot to wonder about.
