Re: Marine Industrial Park

According to the UHub website BGI has submitted a LOI to the BPDA, on behalf of the Foodmart, for Parcel M @ 3 Dolphin Way.

It would replace this building.

Re: Marine Industrial Park

Not sure if anyone has been down there recently but the Harborwalk on the 88 Black Falcon side, all the way out at the end of the pier, was badly damaged. The concrete and pavement is badly pushed in and the wood is damaged. I wonder if that cargo ship that broke loose a few weeks back struck this.

Re: Marine Industrial Park

Amazing that didn't get more attention/coverage. There is some serious structural damage there that Massport will have to fix. Go down there on a weekend and there are dozens of people fishing off that pier.

Drydock 4 proposal. This is an older article, but might be a reality some day.

Could this become an underground parking garage with a park on top???

NBBJ_21drydock01_met

Quick way to add some much needed hotel rooms, if the ship is in reasonable condition.

turn the pit into a greenhouse/aviary/lepidopterarium - this would be a year-round attraction, pulling people further out into the seaport, and would be an alternative or compliment to the aquarium. the roof covering could look like the winter garden (or fancier). the surface level docks could be mixed parks/museums/commercial

thanks for all the pics, beeline, btw

SS United States is still looking for a permanent home, although it would need a complete refurb.

Re: Marine Industrial Park

I don't want to think about what it would take to keep a glass enclosure free of salt grime down so close to the water. But it would be sweet to have something like that.

Parcel 5 to the left
Couple things going on here. They are working on the Tide Street Extension (to the right in the above photo) and they seem to be bring in fill. Not sure if the fill is to raise Parcel 5 or some other project.

Parcel 5 road work. They seem to have added 2 to 3 feet of fill.

Re: Marine Industrial Park

Not sure what this is, but site prep is in progress on parcel V (?). I'm a little confused because according to the area map parcel V is Drydock 4 and this area has no designation.
