IMO, the new courtyard shows a complete lack of imagination. It would make sense to have some tall trees in planters there among the cafe tables for some height. After all, it is a courtyard with plenty of light.

It looks like a Cambridge biotech. That stone needs to fade fast.

I was at the new wing three weeks ago with my now ex-gf, and we were both impressed. I was probably more impressed with the Maritime Art than she was with the Chinese Art. My favorite was the Colonial Artifacts. Some of it seemed cliche, but interesting. Still doesn't beat the guitar exhibit from early 2001!

Holy shit. Those reflective skyline shots are incredible. Could use some cropping, maybe, or a different angle, but the effect is amazing.
That courtyard though? Wow, what an abysmal use of space / ugly furniture. |

what gets me is the sculptures that are relegated to that little outdoor space between the courtyard, and the part of the building next to the court yard. It is like they are in time out.

This place will be hosting the president. Allways noteworthy for a building.
Globe: For whole article go to link http://www.boston.com/news/politics/...?p1=News_links "Obama will also be attending a Democratic fundraising dinner afterward at the Museum of Fine Arts."

A couple photos of the "old" section of the MFA.
