Lead a Jane's Walk this May

Jane’s Walk is a movement of free, locally organized walking tours, in which people get together to explore, talk about and celebrate their neighborhoods. Where more traditional tours are a bit like walking lectures, a Jane’s Walk is more of a walking conversation. Leaders share their knowledge, but also encourage discussion and participation among the walkers.

Jane's Walk is happening the first weekend of May (5th-6th-7th).
Last year, 1,000+ walks happened all over the globe! (There are a few that have already been added for this year in the Boston area, while Worcester will be having a whole week of Jane's Walk events.)

Think of this as an opportunity to:
  • start a conversation with your neighbors,
  • continue highlighting safety issues that have been identified through a community planning effort, a walk audit, Boston's Neighborhood Slow Streets application process (or something similar)
  • get outside and enjoy a weekend in May!

Create your walk idea on, or get in touch with us at WalkBoston with questions or ideas.

"Jane's Walk" was founded in 2006 by friends and colleagues who wanted to honor Jane Jacobs' legacy. More background:
