There was supposed to be a ramp from rt 16 to 99 at least and apparently all those tens of millions in infrastructure improvements somehow disappeared into a few curbs, some lane widening and repaving.... shocked I am. Shocked.

Seriously how did $35 million evaporate so quickly with so little to show?

Well, I noticed that too...

But I am pretty pro casino... just anti-corruption. Wynn has given plenty of money to the state for transportation improvements, the state just hasn't come through. As is, it looks like these improvements are costing about $1 million per 50 feet of sidewalk or turning lane and I am only slightly exaggerating.

Agreed, it's a valid point to ask how that money was spent and why it wasn't enough to accomplish the stated requirements. Your post did not remotely read like a RIF post!

Right, because I didn't imply it was Wynn/Encore's fault. The State is getting plenty of money to improve the transportation infrastructure more than it has.

How long would it take from Boston Harbor Hotel to the Casino by boat?

I thought the state was building an off-ramp for the casino. I guess I was wrong.

What will happen to the industries in that area on the Everett and Chelsea borders that depend on the daily deliveries?
You don't seem to understand where 93 is.

That's not quite accurate (regardless of who this person might or might not be). The Lower Mystic Regional Working Group discussed a northbound off-ramp to the Charlestown side of the MA-99 bridge (not crossing the Mystic). The purpose would be to allow casino-bound traffic to skip Sullivan Square, so it's sort of a dedicated ramp.

Yea, something that would have tied directly into 99 would have made sense. Right now, northbound traffic on 93 will have to get off at Camridge street and navigate the cluster at the rotary.

They said dedicated ramp to the casino, not dedicated ramp to 99.

The dedicated ramp is to Sullivan square both ways coming from Everett or Somerville will clog the rotaries.

The best option is probably take the water taxi in from Boston or park somewhere in Everett near Main Street, Broadway and just walk over.
I don't see an easy access to this casino.

Is there a helicopter pad at this site? The best option to deal with high profile players to fly them in and out by Helicopter.

In and out to where? Logan is ten to fifteen minutes away and Hanscom is probably twenty-five. I don't think they'll ever see enough high rollers to justify such an investment and I doubt they could even obtain permits for a helipad.

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

The Wynn Company, after having spent 2.5 billion isn't about to let the opening weekend turn into a gridlock nightmare with all the ensuing bad publicity. No question they've been preparing for this weekend for a year, meeting with city and state officials concerning traffic. I'll be surprised that they don't have literally hundreds of policeman and Wynn employees everywhere, directing traffic, manning the parking garage, and other parking (2900 spots), moving traffic leaving and exiting the area, everything they can to keep traffic moving. Granted, I don't know the immediate area but no question, they have Plan A, Plan B, and Plan C..plus backup plans for all. Doesn't mean everything will move perfectly but they'll be doing everything in their power to mitigate the over load of traffic expected.

As I recall there were three roadway improvement contracts:
  1. Sullivan Square (DW White for around $10M)
  2. Alford Street and the trucking areas behind Mystic Station (SPS around $15M)
  3. A third location (can't remember - Santilli Circle maybe?).
The Alford Street job was the biggest I think and involved making improvements in areas where you might not notice them. For example Dexter Street and Robin Street were getting full-depth reconstruction and some widening. I wonder if this was a way to reroute truck traffic away from the main entrance of the casino.

There was also a lot of work at Wellington Circle.

Actually, for what I'm usually trying to do there, it's worse.
