Re: Briv

If we have new active admins, I think a last-four-years Archboston awards poll would be fantastic.

Don't worry. Briv will be back again in six months to not make any changes.

Hah. Anyway why is briv the only site admin who can approve new members or create Archboston awards?

He should hand over the reins, or at least give someone else the admin powers he has.

Re: Briv

What if we start a gofundme or something where everyone who wants to contribute can to give it to briv for all the hosting hes paid for for the last 10 years but in turn please pass the reigns and domain to another proven poster.

Re: Briv

It would be drastic, but migrating the site to a different host is probably worth considering

Re: Briv

Hey Briv, Can you please send me a PM when you read this? I want to talk about ArchBoston administration... I think a couple of us do.

Thank you.

Any update on this? Why is briv reluctant to simply share admin? Sorry, but it this simple hubris, or what? It's a popular site and it's gonna die on the vine if nothing changes.

There are no updates, and there won't be any updates. Briv hasn't even been on the site since December.

What i donít get, though, is the fact that heís aware of this thread and aware of the problem. I would think that anyone who took the effort to start a site like this would really want to ensure its continued success... it just doesnít really make any sense to me.

Re: Briv

He just happens to be the one who tossed up the forum when the old one died. It didn't take much. He no longer cares about it enough to even visit, but for some reason doesn't want to give it up to someone who does.

He must still be caring enough to pay the hosting bills and what not, though.

Will this site go away suddenly though if Briv lapses on a payment of hosting bills? That worries me.

And I believe this site would be even more popular if Briv was here to approve new members.

Yeah - has happened at other forums to me before, hosting/domain name lapsed and poof - gone forever. Squatter got on one before an wants like 1k+ to buy the domain back, which wasn't happening.
