Only if you admit that you were wrong with the roof height which you stated would be taller than the Pru.

I mean “technically” an antenna can still always be about to go up any second because they can always helicopter one up... its still on!

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Why are people so fixated on added height from an antenna / spire?

I work a block from the BofA tower in NYC and it may be "1200" feet tall, but it is really a 55 story office building with a pointy thing on top to make is a very tall building. The roof is actually only around 950 ft, and about 150 feet of it is more pointy stuff, not actual office space.

It is one of my favorite buildings in NYC, but it has nothing to do with how tall it is.

I'm still not convince what the true height of this is. It definitely sits downhill from the Prudential. Could they be talking about the relative heights above sea level? I see wrong height information all of the time across all sorts of reputable sites. I'm not sure an instagram account is necessarily the end-all be-all for 100% accuracy. Plus, what counts as "official height" is not always how other parties measure a building.

It's also hard to just completely disregard the links below. It continues to cast some semblance of doubt, as do all the different numbers being bandied about.

For the antenna debate, we should likely know for sure in less than a year. The only qualification to indisputably verify this information will be functional eyeballs.

I guess we'll just have to see how everything plays out.

I mean... the official builder/company that constructed it say its shorter. Unless there is evidence to the contrary, that seems to be the record of fact/truth.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

i'm settled on 1 Dalton at 742' + nothing to see here. It was reported to go 740' for 3 years on a dozen internet sites before it topped. There have been some oddities or no height/s assigned to buildings dating back around the Flynn era when tall construction was halted. Dewey Square went up at 600'--before it mysteriously lost 10' in the '90s (somebody asked?) Chiofaro got to build the same height after a fight. The Fed Reserve is about 588'. A quick study of the floor to floor heights at Exchange Pl, then comparing it to surrounding bldgs indicates about 538~543'. 1 Devonshire Pl appears to rise to ~415' give or take. Flynn was getting a lot of guff from nimby lunatics at the time.

The re-do at 1 Post Office Square is 516'.

No probs, Stick. My comment was not pointed at you, just the back and forth over an antenna and height in general.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Bldup sent me an email with this pic

And:

“Construction Nearing Completion at One Dalton Expected Opening Late April”

“The tower crane for the 61-story One Dalton has started shrinking as construction is nearing completion for one of Boston's most anticipated projects. The 712,500 square feet development will include 180 luxury condos along with a 215 room Four Seasons Hotel. Residents and guests alike will have access to an array of amenities including a fitness center and spa with lap pool, Zuma Restaurant, and a 5,000-square-foot park designed by award-winning landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh. One Dalton is expected to open late next month.”

Signage can be added via rooftop gantry, when they are ready to do so.
