Re: Brookline Developments

The JFK Crossing branding for that stretch of Harvard St. has been around since the mid-90s, though I never much cared for it. The idea was to distinguish the area from both Allston and Coolidge Corner.

Unfortunate: this is a beautiful tract of land, always knew it would get developed, and this looks reasonably tasteful... but nonetheless, would prefer to see it left wild.

Re: Brookline Developments

A quick update on the two projects that are a block apart on Harvard St. in Brookline. For context, the vast majority of the buildings on this stretch are 1 story storefronts.

455 Harvard St:

420 Harvard St ("JFK Crossing")

Re: Brookline Developments

Thanks for the update, passed by these sites often when walking to Coolidge Corner. These units were only possible under the state's 40B law. For context, Brookline permitted only 21 units in all of 2018, in a city of >60,000, according to SOCDS housing data.

Wouldn't rise higher than the rest of the building if they're building the whole thing from concrete. Not sure if this becomes wood at some later point...

Re: Brookline Developments

The core will start showing soon. First floor lobby, second floor parking deck, third floor rooms/amenity/pool deck. The first 3 floors are all concrete, next 7 are steel. Steel delivery was delayed a few weeks but it will start rising in June.
