Thread naming convention has not been followed:

Vertical bars "|" should be used. Slashes "/" should not be used. Additionally, spaces should be between the | and text as such:
Quote:
Official Name (Nickname or Prior Thread Name) | Address or Master Plan Parcel | Location
Example:
The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown
121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

Thread should be renamed to:
Quote:
Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (Government Center Garage Phase I) | 50 New Sudbury St | Bulfinch Triangle

Can we also include the height in the description?

We had a discussion as a community about this in one of the board threads a while back and decided on no, as we are not a skyscraper/height-focused forum, but one focused on the collective architectural merits & urban quality of developments in Boston.

[quote=datadyne007;284601]Thread naming convention has not been followed:

Thanks, I'll try to remember next time, but at my age remembering which day it is a big win for me.

P.s. Modes please correct my error per conventions and I think we can give this project a status of under construction.

There is a letter number cap on thread titles. Using your suggestion it would come out as
Quote:
Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (Government Center Garage Phase I) | 50 New Sudbu
Edit: Does that work for everybody?

Don't see much reason to include "Government Center Garage Phase I", honestly.

Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower | 50 New Sudbury St | Government Center

This site isn't really in the Bulfinch Triangle, despite the name.

2020 opening? I understand it's complicated with the garage and all but 3 full years seems very slow. Maybe I'm spoiled.

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential/Phase I GCG/50 New Sudbury/Boston

Does this need its own thread? Why can't Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End cover it?

These buildings will all be part of the same project on the same parcel. We don't have separate threads for each "Assembly Row" building/phase, or each "One Seaport Square" building, or each "Boston Landing" building/phase, or each "One Greenway" building/phase...

I think we are conceding that each of these building projects may be spaced out by a couple of years (if we're lucky enough that they all even get built). It's conceivable that this tower will open for business before ground is even broken on the office tower.

In some ways, maintaining the Bulfinch Crossing overall thread, and launching sub-threads for the different towers, is like maintaining the "Seaport Innovation District" thread and launching sub-threads for the individual parcels.

I dunno - I'm in support. It would be nice (wishfully) to track the Pelli office tower happenings separately.

It's nice to separate construction photos from discussion of who the tenant at the office tower could be .

But the "Seaport Innovation District" thread covers a whole neighborhood of nearly a square mile filled with dozens of projects. Bulfinch Crossing is only one project. If each phase/building gets its own thread, what goes in the general "Bulfinch Crossing" thread?

We should either have a thread for the project or a thread for each phase; we shouldn't have both. And since the project thread has been active since 2006, it should take priority...

Is there any example on archBoston where a multi-phase project has a project thread and individual phase threads?

I'm in support of breaking it up as well.

I hate large development info being posted the catch-all neighborhood/master plan threads. It's impossible to find info/pictures of specific projects. As I've said in the past, catch-all threads should only be used for small infill & large master plans before construction on them begins.
