Event: Public Meeting
Location: Christian Science Center - 210 Mass Ave

Public meeting regarding proposal to erect two buildings behind Christian Science Center.

Notice notable for stating that the "high-rise" will be 58 stories and the "mid-rise" will be 25 stories.

Contradicting what I thought to be true, that a mid-rise is under ten stories.

I think I'm going to attend this; is anyone else going?

Re: Belvidere / Dalton hotel and residential project

Yeah, I went.

There were some traffic-related concerns as well as requests that the 10%-15% affordable housing units included for the project be located on-site as oppose to being put in some fund elsewhere to be constructed later. Fortunately, it didn't seem like any of the people attending were batsh*t crazy lunatics that derail a whole meeting like a few of the folks I've seen at other meetings, so that was refreshing.

After the meeting I talked to a few people who work at the Sheraton across the street and are part of "Boston Local 26" (a union)... they made up about half of the meeting participants. They said to me that their primary concern with this project is that the hotel occupying the tower hires union employees and that it doesn't have a detrimental impact on parking. Other than those two things, though, they said they're pretty favorable to the project.

Also, all of the pics showed in the presentation are featured in the PNF. I previously extracted the "money shots" of the project and posted them here.

Was there any talk about the Reflecting Pool? Does the CSC still want to make it shallower and add a walkway through it?
