Re: City Hall - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

What's even back there? It's a huge base that doesn't need to exist.

Just spitballing....is it possible the records vaults (birth certificates, marriage licenses etc.) are behind there?

Last time I was back there (circa 2006) that part of City Hall was occupied by the Office of the Parking Clerk. I had a hearing for a parking ticket that I contested. (I lost.)

Re: City Hall - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

Nobody has posted this, but there is a new (temporary?) pavilion structure right on this spot, plus a large "BOSTON" sign that a lot of people were taking pictures in front of when I was there last week. Each letter is bigger than a person! I didn't have my camera on me or I would have taken pics myself.

^ Your referring to the beer garden. Someone took pics and posted on one of the threads.

That sounds right. Do you know if it's permanent, or just there for specific days/times/seasons? That little section, between that and the sign, was more activated than I have ever seen it.

The beer garden is open through mid-late October. I believe it's seasonal.

I walked over there once. It felt like it was designed in a boardroom filled with Xers and Boomers with "MILLENIALS?!?!" written on the whiteboard.

^ Indeed. I've walked past it a few times on the way to BPDA meetings. If their goal was creating a gritty, urban, beer-commercial atmosphere, they kinda killed it.

I prefer the beer in my fridge.
