Apologies for bumping an old post but....

This is a major major major loss for the area. As someone who used to live on St. Germain st, I have been there hundreds of times. Even after I moved a couple of blocks towards the Charles, you better believe this was my go to. The amazing thing about Il Mondo is that it was always open. Like I work long hours (I work in M&A) and regardless of when I got back, it was open. And their pizza was pretty fantastic for just under $4.

There is now a major lack of late night weekday food in the area. Amelia's on Huntington is open late on weekends but not on weekdays. Dumpling place is awful. Wendy's is Wendy's. Tasty Burger is a journey from where Il Mondo is. B Good, Pavement, Boston Burger, Boloco, random Shawarma place, and most others close before 11:30. Point is, there are very few options to get food after 12am, which I typically do on average, once a week.

Huge l for the area. I wish them all the best.

edit: I wonder if Bodega and the other stores in the building will close. I noticed they were all open yesterday

Should be easy to remember. It's down until we have a use for it though.

Thanks to Beeline photochronicling, I see an AECOM Tishman sign on the Garden Garage site.

With the Motor Mart Garage tower debuting today, anybody know what's happening with its proposed neighbor 212 Stuart? Haven't heard anything on that project since the NIMBYs started acting up..

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Is that terrible renovation of Quincy Market still in permitting, on hold or dead?
Please say dead.

Also wasn't there something planned to go in the old Houston's restaurant space?

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Do we have a thread on the O'Neill Building (Causeway St)? That thing needs a tower on top of it.

the GSA has been innovative/commercial with the Volpe complex in Cambridge, eventually their eye will turn to this

Maybe.

GSA can be innovative with Volpe, because they get an independent building (much easier to handle security that way).

GSA is not very fond of mixed use commercial/Fed in the same building.
