When UMass Boston opened the Harbor Campus in 1973 there were fears that Savin Hill would become another Allston/Brighton.

Too bad Columbia point didnt. Instead its a gated community.

^ Quite so. It feels a bit more refined and unified here. There's a bit of streamline/steamship moderne, with a color and pattern that reminds me of Aldo Rossi and Mario Botta.

Dorms are handsome and have some real warmth. The original buildout though is still a perfect place to shoot scenes for a dystopian sci-fi film: crumbling, apocalyptic, alien.

I think that probably says more about Boston than it does about Harry Weese, the architect of the original "campus."
