Re: Most Disliked Buildings

My building is one of those horrible brick boxes! Since I moved there in 2007, we have since done a LOT to try to dress it up: new front door, steps, and lighting, a whole new front yard with plantings, patio space, and a nice black fence. Unfortunately you can only put so much lipstick on a pig :-)

Hey, that looks pretty good! The building is still ugly, but the landscpaing makes it a lot better.

But the brick boxes are not even remarkable... theyre everywhere. Would be fun to make a database of them all though.

Most of the "pillboxes" are inoffensive, but quite a few are funky and interesting in an LA dingbat kind of way. The real offense is the asphalt parking that surrounds them, horrible. They were the first generation of post-war residential to unfortunately defer to the almighty car.

Good idea! Could probably do that in Google Maps.
