Re: Briv

I'd happily pony up as well. Like lexicon, I've been following this group for the majority of my life (from back in the Skyscraperguy days) and think it's well worth the investment. I just registered for the new forum as well and will stay tuned for how/who to send any money to.

Re: Briv

So we already have 5 potential patrons? Awesome. Anyway, we should figure out some important questions, such as hosting (this looks OK from a google search: https://www.a2hosting.com/xenforo-hosting), how much the total cost of everything is, what our long-term business model is (hopefully nonprofit and patron supported), and possibly setting up a Patreon. If DrFreewind wants to assert himself as leader and can work semi-frequently on this, that'll be great, if not, I'd like to be given admin rights in some capacity to keep the ball rolling. It shouldn't be too hard, just pay the relevant companies for the software, hosting, and theme.

Me too. I don't think money is the issue, I think the issue is migrating all of our discussions over and getting everyone on this site onto the new one.

We'd probably need help from mods on here to direct people over to the new site.

Ideal would be to just upgrade and maintain this site, but this discussion has been going on for years and Briv seems unwilling to hand over ownership or give administrative access to anyone.

And last of all, there should be multiple admins for the new site, to avoid the situation on here where the only admin becomes disinterested. Development these past few years is some of the highest it's ever been, and this site should grow. But it is being held back.
