^ Thanks T-Dog -- an illuminating read.

Re: Open Thread

Surely someone in Hollywood has proposed Meryl Streep as Jane Jacobs in an anti-Robert Moses movie, no?

(Yes, she's 20+ years older than Jane Jacobs was in her prime, but they still look enough alike, no?)

It wouldn't be her first screen representation lately—Jane Jacobs made an appearance in Marvelous Mrs. Maisel: http://washingtonsquareparkconservan...n-square-park/

Re: Open Thread

If you're looking to watch a demo, the implosion of the Brayton Point Cooling Towers on April 27th might be worth the drive to Fall River: https://wbsm.com/cooling-towers-in-s...shed-in-april/. The Twin 500+ foot concrete towers will be imploded and should be visible from a lot of spots along the waterfront. I'd recommend Kennedy Park or the Borden Light Marina (Hopefully Canned Heat will open early so you can grab a beer). Heritage Park and Bicentennial Park will have views as well, but they'll be obstructed. The small plaza over I-195 across from City Hall has a great view too.
