Re: Clippership Wharf | East Boston

Looking at the near finished project this somehow came out even better than I expected, and I thought it looked incredible. I know where Im going to be looking at units... very soon. Eastie is my favorite neighborhood and I had always planned on ending up there, I think its time.

“492 studio, one-bedroom, and two-bedroom units, a small cafe and restaurant, a fitness center, a lounge and club facility, a canoe/kayak rental facility, a water taxi dock, and a possible mooring field for sailing.”

Re: Clippership Wharf | East Boston

This is great. I would have liked some more retail, but there is a market luckily and I believe a waterfront restaurant is coming. I cant wait until the fencing is down and I can go inside the park and check it out.

This old wharf used to be my “secret spot” lol for yeeeears. You used to have to go to the building next door, jump down to water level, walk along the edge of the water past the fence thats up next to you on land, walk up up to the concrete wall, climb it, then walk down the concrete until it transitioned into broken boards where you had to jump over the gaps, then finally youd get to the end where you could sit and youd be out in the middle of the harbor and have the whole city to yourselves. It was amazing.

I definitely miss having that, but Im proud of the waterfront finally being developed after all this time. It truly was a gem waiting to be polished. I hope they create an unbroken harborwalk that benefits the city with the best views in all of Boston that we can all experience.

^^^ I believe that was the intention, but I have only seen water after it's rained.

Construction continues on the second condo building while they are very busy landscaping and finishing sidewalks throughout the rest of the site.

Re: Clippership Wharf | East Boston

Came across this ad for slip45 condos on facebook. Looks great.

The only thing missing from these new waterfront developments is the dining/retail. Something to draw people to this incredible waterfront. Its right at a transit stop, directly on the harbor, and has the best view of downtown Boston that exists. This could have been one of the most incredible shopping/dining/drinking areas in all of Boston. I know it was kind of uncharted territory at the time, but its coming out amazing and this area could have been a top destination for anybody vs just residents.

Next to clippership wharf there is at least a small market or else there would be nothing. The waterfront really is turning out great, but I wish they had created more of a destination to draw people in that otherwise wouldnt have known to even go over here. It really is a gem. The harbor walk should be great, plus the expanded piers park, but I think marginal st had a lot more potential to be a destination... oh well its turning out a billion times better than it was.

There is still a ton of room left to build out pier 1, so hopefully by the time that something is proposed there they see how much of a hit the area has become and they put some restaurants out at the end of the pier with skyline and harbor views, that would be absolutely AMAZING. Especially once lots more people are working and living at Suffolk downs theres going to be a lot more people going to the waterfront so I think its important they make accommodations to manage this influx.

This thing looks nicely executed. Simple, by not cheap looking. Some offset windows, but not over done in a way that draws attention to it. Almost looks Scandinavian. And the views... uffa, madon!

I think I have to agree... most of the stuff we've gotten around here is derivative schlock, but despite being fairly boring boxes this one is a cut or two above the rest. Materials and details are nice and don't rely on the usual mixed medium banalities and fake turrets on the corners.

^^^^
Great find, dshoost! The numbers show almost 8000 sq. ft. of indoor space plus 5360 sq. ft. of patio space associated with the three indoor spaces. Hopefully, more to follow with the other developments underway.
