SF's Treasure Island & Yerba Buena Island Redevelopment Project
This is exactly what Boston needs to do - think LARGE:

... transit? Maybe that new BART tunnel needs to swing north.

Re: SF's Treasure Island & Yerba Buena Island Redevelopment Project
I like what SF is doing.
As for Boston: This is probably in the vicinity of the $20 billion price tag, and would be a rather complex project, engineering wise. Though there isn't a need for an expansion at Logan, there's a need for housing. If done right, we could get some nice dense developments where the airport currently is, adding tons of residential and office space, possibly even industrial. Not to mention, we all want height in Downtown and the Seaport; this would cover that also. File this under not gonna happen, but is thinking big. (originally posted under Crazy Transit Pitches) |

Re: SF's Treasure Island & Yerba Buena Island Redevelopment Project
So a giant island for the VC and Tech Unicorn entrepreneurs to live on while the masses rot in SF? Their solution to add 2,000 (25%) affordable units is to spend $6 billion? Wow. SF is a fucking shit show.
Yea, let's not build one of those in Boston. |

Re: SF's Treasure Island & Yerba Buena Island Redevelopment Project
I have a cheaper plan that would cost less money and create more housing:
