Re: Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

Thanks Data,

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

I hope BeeLine is OK and I hope he knows how much he is so very appreciated. I think I can speak for many on this forum to call him an consummate all-star who does so much to prevent this thing from...

Re: Boston - Most Embarrassing Blight That Tourists See

I agree. That juxtaposition would have embodied exactly the type of old-meets-new I was thinking of. Missed opportunity : (

Re: One Bromfield | 1 Bromfield Street | Downtown

Since landlord wanting to avoid long-term leases with commercial tenants seems to be an issue, why not counter such manufactured blight with policies that offer tax breaks for cyclic short-term...

Re: MXD | 145 Broadway/250 Binney | Kendall Square

As is often the case, good dialogue reveals people are more aligned than they think. I can agree with your SHOULDs. I was not at all suggesting we be complacent with the lousy planning and present...

Re: MXD | 145 Broadway/250 Binney | Kendall Square

Wow that is a lot of completely erroneous prejudicial sentiment. Myself and many colleagues hate biking; I live in a very affordable part of brighton and deal with an unnecessarily long commute on...

Re: MXD | 145 Broadway/250 Binney | Kendall Square

I work in Kendall. I simply do not expect to be able drive here. Maybe it's just me, but I completely agree with you atlantaden...my mental model is: thriving city = not being able to drive.

I am...

Re: Boston - Most Embarrassing Blight That Tourists See

^ Kent, while I appreciate your clarification/elaboration, I still respectfully disagree that the building is the main issue...and instead point to the plaza.

The reason it is embarrassing tourist...

Re: Longfellow Bridge update

Here's to hoping it will patina well...resembling a natural looking collage of copper oxide and seagull shit.

I'm only half joking; I bet in a few years it will blend right in.

Re: Longfellow Bridge update

Yes, but the question is why that extra width didn't go to the bike lane (so commuters could have passing ability)...or why not split the difference between bike & sidewalk...or why not shift the...

Re: Longfellow Bridge update

Thanks for the great photos. Aesthetically, I think this rehab turned out beautifully. Say what you will about the schedule, but the craftsmanship seemed to turn out great. I just walked the new side...

Re: Boston - Most Embarrassing Blight That Tourists See

Count me as someone firmly in favor of preservation, and one who is devastated that we are losing both the No. Wash. and Northern Ave. bridges (it seems crucial that at least one of those two be...

Re: One Bromfield | 1 Bromfield Street | Downtown

Absolutely. Why would they go to war with the 45 Province folks when a zoning change is impending anyway. That would be a compete waste of resources. I would guess we should expect to hear nothing...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I knew this tower's curved-triangular cross-section reminded me of something specific...I just couldn't put my finger on it until now:

This thing looks exactly like the internal rotor of a rotary...

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

If I'm reading this correctly, skylights will be added to the existing main terminal - that sounds great!

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Calling the BS flag on this big time. This was a competitive bidding process, whereby millennium outbid other developers. The 153M is not extortion, it reflects the market value of that parcel...and...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I'll be the first to agree that the present implementation is a p.o.s.,

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

It also has no tracks across Binney St. near the One Kendall complex. Maybe they are using the GLX work as an opportunity to do track work on grand junction?
