Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

As in London and Stockholm, congestion tolls typically apply only to the city streets in the Central Business District CBD (that the city controls), and not to the roads that allow you to go across...

Re: RIP Kevin Roche

I was thinking:

Re: Assembly Row (Assembly Sq Redevelopment) | Assembly Square | Somerville

I don't like that a TOD relocation may be the safe and legal way to discriminate against older workers.

There's no doubt that the Greatests, Silents, and Boomers actively arranged things in favor...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

As I was riding a C on Tuesday morning from North Station to Park St, I was surprised to see an E running on my left (the inner Brattle loop) and even more surprised to see it full of people and...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Great idea. It also puts fare collection and fare machines at the subway, where these are easy processes that don't slow the vehicles.

In DC they have a $1 circulator with low floors and 2 big...

Re: Fenway Theater | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

As social equity / class warfare stuff, I generally find universal access to healthcare, education, and employment more compelling issues than access to gladiator spectacles

Being self-aware, I...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Some of it is the radical changes in technology, shape, and energy efficiency of the bulbs--not just that CFLs came and went, and that LEDs are still rapidly evolving, but also that the other vapor...

Re: Fenway Theater | 12 Lansdowne St | Fenway

"We all know they need as much capacity as they can get"
How do we know this?

My assumption would be that they, being capitalists, "need" the most $ per sq ft they can get, and since they have...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I think it would be reasonable to expect the same response. Whatever the model shows for weekend $10, I'd clone/scale it for weekday midday (not sure about evening)

First, even without understanding the details, I'm going to say that this is a work of genius on a long-overdue topic.

Second, I'm going to praise your posting of code and data! (but note that I...

Re: Bayside Expo Center Redevelopment | Columbia Point | Dorchester

I think the new normal, particularly for waterfront mid-rise stuff, is to go up 11 feet and save yourself the trouble of digging down for a garage.

That's basically what Wynn did with the Casino:...
