Re: The Whitney Hotel (née John Jeffries House) | 142-170 Charles Street | Beacon Hil

So you disagree and that's fine, but I was not expecting the avant-garde. I will say it is better than a parking lot but a bit of a let-down considering how prominent the parcel is, how long it has...

Re: The Whitney Hotel (née John Jeffries House) | 142-170 Charles Street | Beacon Hil

I should love it; it checks all the boxes. If it was built 25 years ago I would have considered it a triumph. However, Charles Circle has come a long way since then so I will share my initial...

Re: Amazon HQ2 selected - and not Boston

It's worth repeating: if any company wants to build here we should make it as easy as possible to do so, but no more tax breaks. The market should be picking winners and losers, not politicians. We...

Re: Our Lady of Good Voyage | Seaport Sq Parcel H | 55 - 57 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Maybe I am just a little bitter. The cross on top of this Frankenstein's monster is from the church I got married in and had given a lot of money to. Bernie the Pimp was promoted and lived out his...

Re: The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

I wonder too. Clearly the Seaport is successful because it is not located next to an open sewer. I believe the Big Dig and the harbor clean up are both the major factors in the Seaport's success

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

Correct, it is supply and demand in a booming land poor city, not the modest hourly wage of the "chambermaid." Expensive houses and hotel rooms is a First World problem caused by the city's success....

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

I question if that hourly wage is true. However, $28 an hour will not buy a house in a city with a median home price of $650,000. How very Republican of you, blame the working person for price of...

Re: Dorchester Developments

It would be great to see this lot filled. It has been vacant since at least the Kevin White administration. I wonder how much foot traffic the new retail expects to see

Re: Motor Mart Tower | 201 Stuart Str. | Park Sq | Boston

Two thoughts: I like the lobby on Church Street and I wish we had a better statue of Abe Lincoln

Re: Downtown Crossing

Seaport Blvd. If Burlington, MA was on the water that's what they would name the main drag. It's lazy and awful. How about South Oliver Street?

Re: Dorchester Developments

I support the new housing but it's a bit sad to see the old Ch. 56 building, once a landmark along the SE expressway with it's space age sign, go out like this after being neglected for the last...

Re: One Project, Only One

My favorite would change Martha Road from being on the edge of a no man's land to being a short walk from one of the world's great urban parks

Re: Northeastern University - Institutional Master Plan

Thanks guys for posting those pics. The path looks great. Also, I agree the pedestrian and bike lanes should separated with clear signage as a safety issue but also because the path, like a road or a...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

I feel strongly that the plaza should be saved and city hall should be repurposed. People might not like the architecture but I do. People don't like that the interior is dank, confusing and has...

Re: South Boston Infill and Small Projects

Never in 50 years have I heard of a West Southie. The area is often called "The Lower End" because it is relatively flat.

Also, I just don't buy that even a simple majority of new residents...

Re: General Boston Discussion.

I mostly agree but we have a Republican governor and a Democratic legislature. How exactly is that one party rule? However, you cannot blame the left for the right's inability to connect with...
