Yeah -- I pretty much can't stand Gehry's work, but this building is an exception... the renovation is understated and definitely improves upon the original building.

The fasces (literally meaning "bundle" in Latin, so "fascist bundle" is redundant) was a Roman symbol of authority - a bundle of sticks with a hatchet in the middle. It's been used as a motif ever...
