Re: LaGrange Tower | 47-55 LaGrange St. | Theater District

Fair. That wasn't my intent, but I edited it to sound less dramatic.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

It would be MA Form 1, which has a commuter deduction section in Schedule Y, Line 15.

But you can never pay for a system through fares and thus the tax break approach is no good. Fares aren't a...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Wut? As you can clearly see the garage is gone and this question should have been directed to the X thread, not the project thread in the first place.

What's Happening on Project X Thread:

Geismar was on a 99 PI episode earlier this year too. Highly recommend it.

Re: The Boulevard (née The Times/Littlest Bar) | 110 Broad St | Downtown

Just a shame the first floor program doesn't open up to the Greenway.

This is a really stupid argument, but actually, yes. Rocky Horror.

Re: Downtown Crossing

I too wish there were restaurants on the "main drag" of Washington in DTX proper (say between Winter St and Bromfield), but the problem is that those buildings always had retail in them in that area...

Re: Open Thread

Overpressurized main. Main line regulator likely failed, overpressurized the system and then the old pipes & valves at various homes couldn't handle the pressure. Just an epic catastrophe.

Re: Motor Mart Tower | 201 Stuart Str. | Park Sq | Boston

Re: San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

Well, yes, it does. We can't make that definitive "toast" assessment on our own, only offer conjecture. Buildings/structures are surprisingly resilient and are designed with redundancies to account...

Re: San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

Right, the building really should be vacated and imploded in a controlled manner before it comes down on its own, though I don't know how feasible it is with TransBay next door. Money is money, it...

Re: San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

Structural & seismic modeling concerns the actual loads on the members, rather than the condition of the members themselves, so they'd have to calculate how much the members have been weakened and if...

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

And if you add up all the money we've saved in GAM, TAM & salaries from not buying quality players & DPs for a zillion years, then $100 mil isn't so hard to swallow.

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

Uh, this is Marty Walsh we're...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

If I were Gensler, I wouldn't put the final BCDC/BPDA approved version on my site either. And no, there's no "decent chance." What was approved was the disaster we discussed for pages and is what...
