Re: How does Boston's urbanism compare?

If you’re going to look at each city as a whole, I’d rank San Francisco as number two followed by Chicago, Philadelphia, DC and Boston. Philadelphia seems to offer a similar building density to San...

Re: New Forum Discussion

That could probably work. I think it's important though for everyone to have some skin in the game.

Re: New Forum Discussion

Continuing on the topic of finances .... I realize that this won’t be popular and is likely a nonstarter however considering that many of us have spent probably tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of...

Re: Providence developments

You began this whole thing with the bogus assertion that Massachusetts is irreparably corrupt then cited Rhode Island as a solution(a non-viable solution to a made-up problem). That says to me as the...

Re: Providence developments

This is where most intelligent people will stop reading. Rhode Island is one of the most politically corrupt places on the planet. No amount of naive optimism and glossy skyline pictures can change...

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

If you think tripling the state income tax would be anything less than catastrophic for the state economy, I'd question how in tune you are with reality.

Initially I was responding to this:

which was a response to this:

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

Of course it wouldn't. I was responding to the magic mushroom's zany idea for an added 10% transportation tax on top of the state income tax. Maybe I shouldn't have wasted my time responding at all.

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

You must work with some real pushovers. Ask them if they'd happily pay three times their current state income tax for transit and transportation improvements.

Better yet, ask them what...

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

It would certainly decrease traffic in Massachusetts. Almost everyone who can afford to would move elsewhere.

I fully support a congestion charge in the region of $15/day but this kind of...

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I'm pretty sure the golf course project was finished by last summer. I can't imagine they would have had the state amateur there if it was still in progress.

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I'm not sure how bad the homeless situation is but perhaps they were concerned that with too inviting of a space they ran the risk of the great hall becoming a giant daytime homeless shelter with...

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Your twin tower shtick is nauseating. It's more of a tumor than a second tower.

Yet another Uber-driving rapist. Time to hold these characters to the same standards as cab and livery drivers.

Re: Boston Bombing Memorial | Boylston St | Back Bay

Um, no. Excessively morbid and perhaps a little bizarre in the context of the location. I think this is being over-memorialized. A simple and dignified stone marker like that for the Harrods...

I think that's just how he and the other height fetishists would try to spin opposition. From his blatant disregard for the residents of 65 Martha Road it's obvious he doesn't care about affordable...

Most of the work is being performed on the inside however they're moving the main entry around to Newbury. Seems like a dramatic improvement over the excessively wide sidewalk.

Re: Roxbury parcels 9 & 10 | Melnea Cass Blvd | Roxbury

For what amounts to the first significant investment in the area this seems like a good project to me. If this is a success perhaps we'll see other larger scale projects in the future. It's...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

As laughable as the thought is of JetBlue having any meaningful impact on BA, I'm sure they'll terminate that interline agreement the instant JetBlue announces.

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

I neither like it nor dislike it(I wasn't in love with any of the five proposals to begin with) but I do think a large scale and immersive monument beyond just a statue is completely appropriate...
