Re: South Boston Infill and Small Projects

It is truly hideous. I'm not sure what that Tokyo comment is supposed to mean.

Re: Boston Globe Site Redevelopment | Dorchester

A craft brewery. Just in time for the craft brewery industry bubble to burst.

Re: Tragic possibility for Providence

Shocking. Is the building in such poor condition that renovation is cost-prohibitive?

Re: City Hall - Redevelopment - Preservation - Relocation

...so $150-200 million over 5 years? Why not just rent some office space somewhere downtown and get out of the building maintenance business? That has to be cheap in the long run, no?

Re: Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

Is that the city limits of Boston? Boston city limits are tiny compared to many other major American cities. You really need to set a radius or something or at least use whatever the generally...

Re: Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike PARCEL 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

This. There seems to be a frequent sentiment that every project needs to knock the ball out of the park. It's an impossible standard. Even if the Pike phase never occurs this seems like a significant...

Re: Fenway Area Redevelopment

The adjacent gas station and single story structure look like prime development spots. Any buzz on those properties?

Re: 100 Pier 4 | 136-146 Northern Avenue | Seaport

They're only concerned with preventing new development to appease their octogenarian benefactor's world vision.

Re: Washington Village | Andrew Square | South Boston

It's very cool but don't those things run into lots of maintenance issues?

Re: Winthrop Square Garage Being Demolished

Because people who are totally unqualified to have opinions on anything are allowed to insert themselves and their whack-a-doodle thoughts in the approval process.

What Boston needs is an...

Re: MIT New 450-bed Residence Hall | 121 Vassar St. | Cambridge

With a view of an athletics field, basically a park, MIT has decided to build the smallest windows possible? And compounded it with a sterile facade. That thing is disgraceful.

Re: The Lucas | 136 Shawmut Ave | South End

I walked by a week ago and my take is this thing photographs poorly. Not that it looks good in person, instead just basically a nothingburger in person, but it's a disaster when photographed.

Re: Boutique Hotel at 88 North Washington St | Bulfinch Triangle | West End

That Northend Waterfront Association letter is ludicrous.

Every single point is written as if by a crazy person who doesn't understand they live in a city, or at least feels like they've got...

Re: Condo + Retail Project | 124-126 Salem Street | North End

Okay, glass is in to prevent people (kids) from falling through the metal. It still looks like a hot mess.

Re: Ink Block (Boston Herald) | 300 Harrison Avenue | South End

I don't think it looks cheap, but it certainly looks bad. Either the frames need to be lighter or the cladding needs to be darker. Woof.

Re: Worcester Improvements

In that loft: a 20-something artist who owns a $5,000 chair and no kitchen equipment. Probably not the affordable unit.

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

If he works for a media agency that's probably why he's acutely aware of the term (or any generational label) being useless, arguably derogatory, and/or not applicable to many, if not most, of the...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

They're saying they don't feel that way because grouping them in with people born late-80s and later is nonsensical to them. Things being said about their cultural identity, adolescent experiences,...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

It is absolutely not widely agreed upon, and frankly, the 80s born aren't millennials acceptance/understanding is only growing. If anything, Millennials start in the late 80s, or even as late as...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

People who are 35 (born 1982) are not Millennials. Bunching people born late 70s through mid 80s in as Millennials because they don't fit the Generation X definition is lazy. There's a small...

Re: MassDOT Pike Parcels 12 - 15 | Boylston St. and Mass. Ave | Back Bay

I'm sure it looks better from 150 feet from the optimal viewing angle but I'm not sure it's the State Transportation Building Volume II. Part of the problem with that building is the totally...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

I like the Guggenheim. The middle thing is hideous and inhuman. The WTC Station is sort of neat, I guess, but probably a huge waste of money for something that looks like it is trying too hard to be...

Re: Hotel Tower | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square

There are huge spaces ready for development in the heart of downtown.

Between the Government Services building and City Hall with its plaza there are acres and acres of prime real estate that are...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

That view might be the best of the new uber-penthouse views. Harbor and beyond, North End, DTX/Financial District. Unobstructed and unlikely to be blocked anytime soon. That is a phenomenal view.
