Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

True, but the state owns the property right of way to divide to the airport. After the airport (rt 202/122), the road gets pretty dicey. They didn't do it when they put in the bollards based solely...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

Using the word greenfield, reminded me of something.

I flew in and out of Dulles a while ago and noticed (what I think is new) rail going straight down the middle of the highway. I recall maybe...

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

You have to watch out for those filthy creatures. Those fields must be fenced in. The last thing you need is professional athletes getting bit by a tick and developing lyme disease.

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

“The goal is to collect data that could lead to a class action lawsuit.”

Not to rain on the parade, and who knows if this will advance in Congress, but at the end of the day, this is a microcosm...

Re: Shreve, Crump & Low bldng may be replaced w/ new develop

Is it possible that the empty space is still under lease thereby satisfying the owner?

Re: Temporary Habor Garage discussion thread until project is officially launched

Toss the wretched twin Harbor Towers into your scheme as well.

Re: Boston Freedom Wheel | Long Wharf? | Waterfront

Do you have kids and if so, do you travel with them?

Off the top of my head, we've rode them in Seattle, London, Vienna, Chicago, DC, LA (santa monica), Dallas. Sure it's a tourist trap, but it's...

Re: Old Boston Edison Plant | Summer St | South Boston

Indeed it is. "We need more housing"...."Just not near my place" pretty much sums it up.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Reading between the lines, it looks like post-acquisition redundancy measures, i.e. getting rid of the deadwood.

Re: One Congress | West End

It's possible too that their other lease contained pricing options that were way too expensive and the landlord wouldn't budge. A company I worked for was in a similar situation with a long term...

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

Re: Microsoft's $500 million affordable housing fund

The cynic in me says this is really a thinly veiled foray into the world of targeted lending helping their own cause:

"Microsoft officials say it’s too early to say exactly how much affordable...

Re: The St Regis Residences (former Whiskey Priest site) | 150 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

Re: Boston (née New Brighton) Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

It probably could of and it would have made sense for NB. NB isn't a huge player in terms of market share for soccer equipment, they are much more of niche brand so it would have been great for them...

Re: The New Retail Thread

Pike Place in Seattle comes to mind for me. Lots of cool / funky shops & local vendors. Only big corporate brand in sight is the original Starbucks across the street.

Re: North-South Rail Link

Exactly. Living patterns are very cyclical. And if large city public schools don't shape up, the flight to burbs will re-occur when the younger generation has kids unless they are fortunate enough to...
