Hasn't the super-jumbo part of the expansion already been built?

Re: Logan Flight Additions

Ok. I'm no expert here.

But the A380 wasn't competing with the 737. It was competing with the 777, mostly. And a 777 can give you almost 400 pax on 2 engines. There have been 2,000 orders for...

Re: Where is....?

Randomly - what was the name of the guy who used to post strange quasi-russian-accented zen koans / hot takes in a random mix of lower and upper case letters?

Re: General Electric HQ (Phase 1 - Necco Buildings Reno) | 244-284 A Street | Fort Po

Wow.

Relieved that - at this point - looks GE is not going to leave the state & city holding the bag.

But mostly my reaction is that this outcome would have been completely inconceivable -...

Re: Amazon HQ2 selected - and not Boston

^ Yeah and at this point the idea of a 'tech capital' is an anachronism. 'Technology' has permeated all industries and elements of the economy.

Now - a lot of people use 'tech' as a shorthand for...

Re: Volpe Transportation Center Development | Kendall Sq | Cambridge

I think it's a vast overstatement to say that Binney is an urban disaster. Maybe 10 years ago, but not today - and it definitely has the potential to be even better in the future.

Binney in...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

You'd love it even more if canal st were a pedestrian only biergarten leading to a new park/plaza/retail space covering the ramps @ haymarket ... and there were an 80-foot-wide, raised-platform,...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

Yeah I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that that was the plan at one point, but Winthrop managed to stop it from happening because the extended, parallel 15L/33R would have been so close to...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

Interesting. Yes impossible to get anything parallel to 4_22 because of how tight the Bayswater St side is.

But you *could* shift the entire ' Chelsea runway' (is it 15_33? Runs nw to se?) out...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Hey thanks for pushing the analysis & hypotheses guys. All I can add is that even after all this discussion I'm still not sure what's being built.

But to take it from a different angle - if they...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

Yeah the thing about the current location is that half the surrounding area has zero density because it's the motherfuxking ocean. Hard to replicate that in the western suburbs.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Yeah no render of the court view, but this does show some exterior windows on the north side, which is interesting?

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Yeah keep in mind there's 2OL and 1 GL platform at the bottom level, and 1 GL platform + unpaid lobby on the mezzanine level of the station. Tunnel starts from the unpaid lobby on the Mezz level.

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Right. It would be tricky, but I think it's feasible. So in each rush hour you'd have 2 traffic lanes and 1 bus (SL + Logan Express + Peterpan etc.) lane in the rush direction, with the other lane...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

The Norwood airport pitch actually got me thinking.

What if what the region "needs" is an airport serving worcester & providence in the same way that Bradley serves Hartford & Springfield?

If...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

I have no information at all on this - its 100% speculation - but i wonder if (Boston-based) DraftKings is looking for a co-branded sports betting zone.

Re: Seaport World Trade Center Redevelopment | 200 Seaport Boulevard | Seaport

Wow that looks real nice.

Among other things it should dignify the boarding process for the various large booze cruise boats - the existing walkway around the WTC is pretty narrow and there's...
