Re: 1000 Boylston Street | MassDOT Parcel 15 | Back Bay

I really don't think a 600 footer vs a 500 footer would make much difference in this area. Yeah if it was something massive like 1000' it would be awesome and revolutionize the skyline. But 544'...

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Anyone got any renders of what downtown will look like once this is up?

And for the record, is this gonna appear taller than MT? Official height its only a mere 4 feet taller I think (691 vs 687).

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

Wiki says 1 Congress will be 647' but the Globe is saying 528...is the globe just counting highest occupiable floor or roof height? Looks like the building has a flourish that could take its...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

They got the last few floors clad pretty quickly. Is the cladding complete now on all sides?

1 Dalton is a 3 sided building, right?

EK used to have 3x dailies to JFK and now those are just 2x now. Perhaps the cut backs happened across the board...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

The number of commuters (for work, business) on a weekday is probably at least equal to the population of Boston - so another 700,000. Assuming 150,000 Bostonians work outside the city limits (just a...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Oh yeah I know all that. I was just pointing out that the Back Bay skyline alone is on par with the skyline of cities like Nashville, Louisville, St Louis, Indianapolis, etc. Those are all fairly...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I disagree.

I think some of these older-yet-still-modern buildings belong in any skyline. Obviously, gleaming glass towers like MT or 1 WTC in lower Manhattan are awesome, but the Pru is not...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

1 Dalton certainly is a nice tower. So is Millenium Tower downtown. Hopefully 115 Winthrop, TD Garden Tower also continue the trend.

Bulfinch Crossing has really sweet looking renders.

Is...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

27th in NYC is not that bad I guess. 748' is pretty tall. The problem with Boston is that that is basically the tallest building in the city (790 for the Hancock). Boston really does need a 1000...

Off topic, but I noticed Lufthansa has stopped operating the 748 on the FRA-BOS route...is that just a summer seasonal thing???

Re: South Station Tower

Most of the Back Bay buildings are 350-400. Its just Pru, Hancock, and 1 Dalton that are true skyscrapers. And I guess 111 Huntington.

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

^ that doesn't look very nice, IMHO. the aspect ratio's should be thinner for a 500' building to give it the appearance of being taller.

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

Can we get some skyline renders with this project, 115 Winthrop, and the South Station tower up???

Man, if only Copley Place was there...Boston would be kicking serious skyline ass (already a...

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Just googled it...MDW is a whopping 10 miles away from the loop. Thats about as far as JFK from midtown/downtown Manhattan.

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

DCA is OK because the tallest buildings in the DC area are in Roslyn and those are only around 450 feet.

MDW is still a lot further away from the Chicago Loop than BOS is from downtown. I think...

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

It is true that the total # of skyscrapers in a city is more important to give the skyline a more massive/dense feel than just having one or two really tall buildings.

That being said, I feel...
