Re: Education First (Phase III) | 10 North Point Blvd | Cambridge

It is a shame. Especially with such a prominent spot from 93 and the commuter rail.

The initial renders had a light and airy feel, and the windows were much more noticeable than the concrete...

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

Anybody know what the timeline is on Volpe? MIT got the zoning approved. What's next? It's been about a year since any substantial news came out. SOM was supposed to be designing the new federal...

Re: MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing

I don't believe the full donation will be going toward the building. If that were the case, this would be more expensive per square foot than the Nano Building. The $350 million is a kickstart to the...

Re: MIT Stephen A. Schwarzman College of Computing

Their language is confusing, but they do note it will be "a new building" set to open by 2022. To me, sounds like it's not under construction, but that's an aggressive time-line for building a...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Never called BP cheap. Wouldn't call Echelon cheap either.

Nope.

No. (though Quaker Lane, One Seaport, and Echelon are their own destinations. This is an addition onto a large...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Why would the City take up some of the cost?

I'd agree a roll-up glass door as Beton is suggesting is favorable. This won't be pleasant to walk through in December, January, and February

Re: 10/11/2018: HUGE Development Regarding Boston Area College Dormitories

How many units/beds result from $1 billion?

Also, one fear I have is that this housing will just turn into luxury student housing, and only a handful of the 36,000 living off campus will opt to go...

Re: Kenmore Square North

If the citgo sign goes, how likely is it that Related Beal will change their plans? The building with the sign was sold to Related too, was it not? I'm honestly a bit against this project as a whole,...

Re: Fort Point

I know we've concluded they'll never move, but how much is their entire plot of land valued at? 40 acres in downtown Boston must be some pretty good cash.

Re: 150 Kneeland Street | Chinatown

Its hard to read what that material is. It doesn't help that they made a nearly monochromatic render at night. That's a bit concerning. This, visually, like a lot of recent projects, will be...

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

That's dependent on the condition of the tracks. There are speed restrictions on a good portion of both lines to prevent derailment. It'll be years before any of those issues are taken care of.

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

I've seen a few posts here advocating for Back Bay ramps. Where would they go /fit??

Re: Lowell 2015 update

No, but there is a fence around the site. I'm not sure if that's related or if the fence has been there for a while, though.

I was more focused on the fact that even the non-architecture enthusiasts and people that usually don't pay attention to these things see something wrong with this. Usually when archboston is angry...

Re: BU Development Thread

Not that it matters that much, but this is getting a lot of hate from students and alum on the official Facebook post. Not many people that don't usually pay attention to architecture seem to like it.

They originally planned top down construction here. Does anybody know if that has since changed?

Re: Bulfinch Crossing | Congress Street Garage | West End

That's one of my only concerns with this tower. It looks so sleek and elegant from the harbor view, but there are so few renders of the wide side that SO many people will see every day. Will it read...

First off,

I love Boston, but if what you were to propose actually came to fruition, I'd move out in a heartbeat. I have to ask, how many times have you been around "insanely huge...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Even during construction I've already heard a couple people walking by asking where the garden was or saying something along the lines of "I swear North Station used to be across the street."

I'm pretty sure SFO uses non-police officers at arrivals and departures to keep things moving (there are significantly less buses and more cars), and they're pretty strict about it. You can't sit for...
