Re: Kenmore Square North

Why is it good, because everything is about the exact same height as each other? Why do we consider that good around here? They should have saved the corner building with a facadectomy, went 25...

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

Blasphemy!!!

From a skyline perspective, these are all basically on par with a Westin or Marriott, as opposed to Copley which would have topped the 111 Huntington and Parcel 15 level. These are...

Re: Kenmore Square North

Everybody involved with the development and approval of this project should resign, effective immediately. Pack up your shit, get out of Boston, and go slowly ruin some other city.

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

The North Station buildings through Bulfinch Crossing seriously loom over parts of the North End. In particular, I recommend walking up the garage ramp here to see the budding skyline at its finest....

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

Great news! This one's going 45. It's going to extend the downtown plateau across Government Center and help visually connect the North Station area back to the rest of the city.

Also, from up...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

I don't think this is true. I believe you might be referring to an older render. I'm pretty sure it will be the same color the whole way, which is really more silver than white but it also depends...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Well a lot could depend on when exactly the Google Maps mobile went by. I have been through tons of downtown Boston when it was essentially dead, and other times when the same streets were thriving...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

It was pretty evident from the top of the Liberty Place observation deck. Maybe they have nice green space on the outskirts but Center City and the immediate surrounding area didn't seem to have...

Re: MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

The direct replacement is a much shorter, low 200's cube. However, there will be a 295' right behind it which will at least partially maintain the peak effect from most views.

Re: Winthrop Center | 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

We should be able to get something taller in many other locations. 1 Bromfield, Pi Alley Garage, the parcel across from the Congress Garage office tower, and pretty much anywhere between Government...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I'll tell you, when I was walking around different cities on my recent roadtrip, I absolutely gravitated towards the shadows. However, I called them "shade" instead. It was hot as hell out there! ...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I recommend everybody spin this view 360 degrees and you'll see all 3 of Cleveland's tallest buildings. The top 2 in particular are absolutely dynamite. The third tallest not so much... Downtown...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

The picture you linked cuts off the bottom 16-18 floors. I have seen it in person and it is extremely handsome and well proportioned. Mainly, the point of it is my desire for a more classical...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

It's simple, sleek, and classy, just like the JHT.

I was just in Philadelphia and let me tell you, I would not want something like their new Comcast Technology Center. From many angles it just...

Re: MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

As other people have said, this looks better in real life. Pictures aren't real life. I agree that the gradient should have been done better, but it doesn't bother me as much in person.

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

I'm making the assumption, based on it being a concrete contractor, that they are talking about the last pour at 120' and not the official top of the building.

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

I'm pretty sure it's just the sign for most of us. The proportions could be better but the building itself still looks great, particularly for Boston.

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

Interesting. I wonder how far above the concrete the final steel for the mechanical screen will go. It looks like about 2 floors worth of space.

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

This building wasn't designed to have a sign, and it shows. I wonder if the front and back are wide enough to stack State on top of Street and have the sign be that way instead. I would rather not...

Thanks! Be sure to check out all the rest of the picture posts above too, starting with the Beeline ones in Post 4065. Ditto on the Bulfinch Residential thread.
