Re: Beth Israel Patient Building | West Campus | Longwood

So now you think have a better handle on BI's long term needs than the team of executives, architects and planners who've been working on this project behind the scenes for probably upwards of five...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Seems like a stupid thing to say about a federal government building.

Re: Kenmore Square North

Since they're proposing this as commercial, which isn't one of Related's core businesses and using a couple of relatively low-caliber architectural firms, I wonder if they're planning to get this...

Re: Local Politics Thread

Good people aren't cheap. $319k isn't a lot of money to manage a city with a $600m annual budget.

Re: The New Retail Thread

Smith & Wollensky at the Park Plaza armory is closing. Not terribly surprising as the entire company has been on a decline for years. This will leave them with five locations - Atlantic Wharf,...

If it wasn't a minority-owned business, it wouldn't be a story.

Maybe a Harvard Business School case: How to lose over $5000/day, screw your landlord, creditors and suppliers and still win...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Interestingly this still hasn't hit Four Seasons' new openings page so mid 2019 is probably the earliest for even the hotel component.

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

It probably would be but I doubt these interiors are final. They're a bit gaudy for a Raffles.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

One shouldn't ignore the fact that many of these part time residents make rather generous charitable contributions, such as Grayken's $25m to BMC to combat the opioid issue.

Re: Boston and surrounding areas housing crisis

What is so bad about San Francisco? Other than the cost of housing, which people seem to be just fine paying, it blows Boston out of the water in every possible way.

Re: Boston and surrounding areas housing crisis

In most cases when tax incentives have been granted, Massachusetts has been in competition with other states for those jobs.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Remember that only tourists...

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

One thing that stood out on the "who pays for what" page is the $20m American is putting into the Admirals Club. Seems high for a renovation.

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

With an observation deck, many of the people who'd entertain buying here would probably reconsider on privacy and security grounds.

To simplify this as much as possible: No buyers, no building.

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

AA hasn't flown transatlantic from Boston for at least four years* and by the end they were down to two daily 757s to Heathrow.

* Forgot about the seasonal Paris flights, also a 757.

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

It's not a simple matter of the "rich not wishing to mingle with the peasants" as it is a legitimate concern that the target demographic will not want to live in a building with an observation deck.

Re: Local Politics Thread

As usual, you're embarrassingly wrong. Do some research on the EB5 visa program before you start spouting off nonsense.
