Re: Union Square D2.1 | 10 Prospect Street | Somerville

That will absolutely need to happen in the future.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Aren't the Fort Point Channel bridges too short to accommodate any of the existing BHC ferry fleet anyway?

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

Yeah. IF Blue is going to go west along the river it needs to hit Kenmore. And probably terminate there. Ultimately the extension would serve as a release valve for the Green Line and Government...

Re: Union Square D2.1 | 10 Prospect Street | Somerville

If they don't find Ebi Sushi a home when all is said and done I will be very upset.

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Would be pretty straight forward to convert the Chelsea busway to LRT and hookup to the Green Line system west of the Boston Engine Terminal and send to the Grand Junction. It's been discussed in...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Seems like GLX terminating at Rt 16 is the furthest it will likely go for a long while. Bridging the Mystic doesn't seem to make sense for a +1 West Medford extension. The farthest afield that...

Re: Kenmore Square North

Was there some new crisis of legitimacy about the Citgo sign among a small group of people that I've been unaware of? The Venezuelan government has been problematic for decades.

I'm not sure I...

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

I don't know where you put the northern portal in that scenario. It would need to be SOUTH of Chinatown Gate because there's no way for a streetcar to get from Chinatown Park to Hudson St without...

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

I've heard Ari refer to gauntlet tracks as a way to get more full highs at tight stations. Is that feasible?

Re: Fenway Center (One Kenmore) | Turnpike PARCEL 7, Beacon Street | Fenway

Are there still any future phases anticipated with decking? Or was all that just fantasy?

Re: Newton Developments

Nice. I know it will never happen, but it would be great for a full/partial deck of the Pike at these locations with similar developments like this. The Pike Trench is such an unfortunate feature...

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

How is this "p/c garbage"? So any monument that's not a traditional statue is pc?

Re: General Infrastructure

It's odd that they didn't. Usually when they cancel school they declare a parking ban. I believe the two are linked in Somerville. Schools are closed whenever there's a Snow Emergency.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Do you mean 495/90? Maybe there's room around the freight terminal (https://www.google.com/maps/dir///@42.2686666,-71.5666125,1135m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m2!4m1!3e0) for a station, but the challenge is...

Re: New us masterplanned city.

Yup. Master Planning is most successful when there's a lot of land that can be redeveloped at minimal cost to existing infrastructure and residents. Post-industrial reclamation projects, like the...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Oh obviously. The state needs to do a better job at framing transportation issues for the public, and educate why it makes sense to use a holistic, rather than zero-sum approach with transportation...

Re: Green Line Extension to Medford & Union Sq

Where would a Mystic Lakes spaces go, and what would its utility actually be? The north end of Pine Ridge Road maybe... but it's kind of "middle of nowhere" as far as rapid transit goes.

EDIT:...

Re: Rex Sox Theater [12-28 Lansdowne St]

To clarify, UHubs says "room for 5,400 patrons" not seats. I misspoke. But yes, it's big.

Rex Sox Theater [12-28 Lansdowne St]

Didn't see this anywhere yet.

Sox have entered into an agreement with Live Nation to build and operate a 5400 seat entertainment venue on the triangular lot behind right field.

Universal Hub...
