Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport

Doesn't the city actually need the hotel rooms more than it needs the apartments? Housing can go anywhere, but hotels need to be near the convention center and other tourist attractions. The...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport

Large swaths of Washington Street, Winter Street, Bromfield Street storefronts are vacant. Tremont Street across from the Common doesn't look so great either, except for Emerson College's...

Re: Innovation District

A "long haul" from the Convention Center to WTC station? Google Maps says 0.2 miles and I think that's overstating it. It's a longer walk from Hynes station to that Convention Center's entrance.

Re: South Boston Seaport

I'm always curious to see if anyone has been to both San Antonio's riverwalk and Providence's, and how they compare. (but now we're getting way off topic for this thread)

Re: South Boston Seaport

Re: South Boston Seaport

35%? I would have expected something closer to 60-70%, as this feels like a very educated region. Are people under 18 or 19 excluded from the population before this calculation is made?

Re: South Boston Seaport

On the other hand, the nearest fire station is pretty close -- Purchase Street, a...

Re: South Boston Seaport

This sounds more like Fort Point (an industrial area full of old buildings is not 'from scratch') than Fan Pier (totally empty area).
