If we're not tearing down buildings, Green-Waltham would have to be mostly street-running west of School St, which seems like it would be a vastly worse service than Red-Waltham.

Kind of moot with all door boarding coming. Also I've seen them set up belt barriers and collect fares from handheld readers after Red Sox games.

As things stand right now, not increasing fares will decrease funding for maintenance. So unless someone is proposing the legislature change the MBTA's funding scheme, they're just blowing hot air.
