Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Fair enough. 1959 then. Rail travel was on its last legs, and railroad hotels like Manger/Madison (and the Essex) were drooping. The West End was blitzed. The Artery was there. Just about...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Re: BU Data Sciences Center | 700 Commonwealth Avenue | Kenmore Square

Re: BU Development Thread

What's the FAA height limit here? Maybe stack more boxes and make it 1000 feet high! (Nah. Just kidding.)

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

Oh no, I'm not commenting on the tall part, only on the part that I'll see. The skyline view from 10 miles or 2350 miles, its not everything!
The other angle is better, thanks. But I see...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

That last render looks like a museum exhibit. "On the left, proto-brutalism. On the right, typical early 70's corporate street architecture, still awaiting completion with addition of large outdoor...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

St Louis residents would certainly recognize what was to be EUR's most prominent feature. Saarinen cribbed his design from the unbuilt EUR arch, meaning the great "Gateway" monument to European...

Re: Official City Hall Plaza Proposals

Don't think Germania is a good comparison. Speer was Haussmannian in his street layout (Neronian if you prefer), but suffers from preposterous giantism. Even EUR is superior, if you want to stick...

Re: Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Boston Common | Downtown

I'd be happy for "Shoeshine Lincoln" to find a home with those relocated Confederate statues.

Re: Fenway Area Redevelopment

Guard to 3 Stooges: "How do you wish to be executed- beheading or burnt at the stake?"
Curly: "I'll take burning at the stake".
Moe: "What?"
Curly: "A hot steak is better than a cold chop!"

Re: Marriott Moxy Hotel | 240 Tremont Street (Parcel P-7A) | Theater District

There is this one particular Kardashian ass sized pot hole right in the middle of the street between the hotel and the Wang/Boch that's been there forever and is an axle breaker.

Re: Motor Mart Tower | 201 Stuart Str. | Park Sq | Boston

^^^My compare!

On the building, how about some Art Deco medallions around the crown depicting modes of transport from the 20's through today, e.g.: a locomotive, a 30's car, a P 38, a 707, a space...
