Re: Logan Flight Additions

Massport finished the rebuild of gates E10-12 to make them capable of handling the A380. It also included 3 new airline clubs that British Airways, Lufthansa and Emirates have taken. Lufthansa is yet...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

Not surprising. The entire A380 program has been a failure. Not a single commercial airline in North America, South America or Africa bought the plane. It has a purpose in a very small segment of air...

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

I think it's reasonable to think the Revs could increase their average attendance from roughly 18,500 up to 22-23,000.

They should shoot for a stadium with a capacity of 24-25,000. A bonus would...

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

The reason the MLS Cup in Atlanta drew a larger crowd than the Super Bowl is because the NFL needed to block off sections of seats to add in more space for the press. The college football national...

Re: Site in Hub top choice for a soccer stadium

So you stopped supporting the team simply because you don't like where the stadium is located? If so, that's a pretty lame reason. Just because Kraft hasn't built a soccer specific stadium for the...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

Unless you have lived in your house since the 1950s, I have no sympathy for those that bought homes under a flight path to/from Logan.

Planes have become a lot quieter over the last couple of...

Re: Needham Street Redevelopment | Newton

I am not suggesting that transit is not needed in this area, because it is. Especially once this residential project is complete. The 128 add-a-lane project, while very necessary to expand and...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

At some point, Logan is going to reach a wall where Massport cannot expand anymore. It remains to be seen what type of an impact that Terminal E expansion will have on operations. It's a great...

Re: Needham Street Redevelopment | Newton

Building a green line branch, while nice, is not the answer to traffic in this area. They need to expand (modestly) and make the road infrastructure more efficient in the area. You have a large...

Re: Needham Street Redevelopment | Newton

The road infrastructure in this area is woefully undersized. The expansion of the 128 project made the Highland Ave exit area a lot better, but that momentum gets killed once you go into Newton and...

Re: Crazy Airport Pitches

Since this is in the crazy airport pitches, then you could easily build runways over 95. Buyout dozens of homes in the surrounding area. Namely those adjacent to Blue Hill CC and takeout the business...

Re: General Infrastructure

That's fantastic Stick. A modern international airport should have been built decades ago outside of the city. Would have allowed a lot more space for expansion of the airport.

High speed rail to...

Re: General Infrastructure

Not really surprising. The road infrastructure in both Seattle and San Francisco is a lot better than Boston. Better layout, wider highways, better on and off ramps, etc.

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

Atlanta's airport does not charge a fare for their APM that connects to the rental car facility.

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

I am surprised Massport is not going to move the economy lot, maybe put it next to the car rental facility. They're going to need space over near Terminal E to park planes.

Re: Logan Flight Additions

I am not saying it won't happen (tons of rumors), but flight attendants are not always the most reliable sources of information at an airline.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Thanks for the nice response. How costly would it be to electrify the entire system?
