Re: Parcel 12 | Massachusetts Avenue at Boylston Street | Back Bay

I really wish there was more to the residential portion. Given that it's ON TOP OF A T STATION they could easily get away with more height. Oh well, it's still very nice. Hynes MBTA stop is getting...

Re: Wentworth Expansion

There are so many small ways this could have turned out to be shit and it didn't. Bravo. It really fits well into the quad.

Re: NEMA Boston | 399 Congress St. | Seaport

It's pretty common every where actually.

Re: Echelon Seaport | 133-135 Seaport Blvd | Seaport

I think this is probably the most important new building in the Seaport based on use. This is going to bring real people to the area 24/7 and help activate much of the empty storefronts. If this...

Re: Innovation Dist. / South Boston Seaport

I'm impressed how they fit those bike lanes in. I didn't think it was possible with how they had designed the parking spots. Also I'm starting to get a real Park Ave vibe along this strip, both with...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

I really hate this design. That truss completely clashes with the rest of the facade. Shit, it would have been far nicer if they just went crazy with diagonals to bring it together! I have no idea...

Re: General Infrastructure

To be fair all of NYC's first plazas were cut rate too. They were designed to be temporary so they could be adjusted based on how well they worked. It's a smart plan.

Re: Parcel I | Cambridge Crossing | East Cambridge

The added balconies and terrace are just so they can charge more for the same crap.

Re: Temporary Habor Garage discussion thread until project is officially launched

I merged the threads. We don't need two different threads of wild speculation.

Re: Ode to Brutalism

Barbicon, the C7 building in Harvard Sq, the Aquarium and the Christian Science Plaza all prove one thing: brutalism can work if it has well designed urbanism. People love well defined and designed...

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

Not sure why this would even be necessary. Sure Kendall is a powerhouse but this would really only serve Worcester Line riders and that isn't much of a draw when a lot of these workers are choosing...

Re: South Bay Center Expansion | Dorchester

I don't mind this. It's not great and probably won't age well but it's better than what was there before. My main concern for those who live here is that these buildings are so far from anything. The...

Re: Ode to Brutalism

Those pictures are gorgeous but there is one problem. There are no people. This is architecture porn, not good urbanism. Probably just how he shoots them. So many interesting design choices I know...

Re: Innovation Square (iSQ) | 6 Tide St. | Seaport

This design is the opposite of "innovation".
