Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

As a whole, the project really is impressive from the street. Something I hadn't grasped from the renderings is that the second floor on the office podium is double-height. It's very visible and very...

Re: Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

Provided there's no changes here, I think that a decent facade analogue is rising in Lower Manhattan at 25 Park Row. Just to give an idea of what we might see.

Re: Downtown Crossing

I love the paint job but I'm also just glad to see the building taken care of- it's one of only 4 cast-iron buildings in the city.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Facade is being installed on the lowest of the remaining floors as of this afternoon. Visible from Boylston.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

If I had to guess- I'd say it was some combination of installing the facade support system on the upper levels (which seems to have been a bit more complex than the system below) and the recent...

Re: Goddard House | 201 S. Huntington | Jamacia Plain

I'd argue it's very much a chicken-and-egg situation along that stretch. One on hand, the area could stand to be activated with some ground floor retail. On the other, my experience as a nearby...

Re: Goddard House | 201 S. Huntington | Jamacia Plain

I live within sight of this project and see it basically every day. Though it is a Samuels project, and I normally have good expectations for their work, I'm not pleased with how this is turning out....

I'm actually pretty hopeful about this project. This looks nice.

Re: Scape Student Housing | 1252-1268 Boylston Street | Fenway

It would be nice to keep the facade of the current building. And Machine will need a new home.

Re: Allston-Brighton Developments

This is a much more measured take on what I was getting at in my initial post. I'm not saying the project should be bereft of parking, but it's obvious to me that there's going to be too much here. ...

Re: Allston-Brighton Developments

This is literally 500 or fewer feet from a Green Line station. Does this project really need 323 parking spaces for 270 units, even with the supermarket?

Re: Somerville Developments

It certainly took them long enough. They've been working on that site since the start of the year, if I remember correctly.

God, I miss Johnny D's.

Re: MXD II | 325 Main St. | Kendall Square

Utini!

That said, I'm actually fond of the massing here. It's bulky, but I feel like it could wear it well.

Re: 60 Kilmarnock St | Fenway

Yeah, I think these will turn out quite nicely. That said, at least one additional retail space feels like a must.

Re: The Harlo (née Skanska Fenway Project (Burger King))| 1350 Boylston Street | Fenw

It's important/interesting to note that it's not a mural in the literal sense- it's a silk-screened piece of fabric attached to the party wall, and not painted. I'm sure it'll be replaced and renewed...

Re: Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downto

It's really been incredible to watch this reno/rebuild process. You have 100 years of advances in steel construction, side-by-side, and it's fascinating!

Feeling hopeful about the new facade that...

Seriously. The (very positive, IMO) impact of the podium on Causeway Street is hard to overstate.

Re: San Francisco high-rise sinking, tilting

I wonder how often collapses like this happen in Mexico City, given its rather precarious location in an old lakebed. The whole municipality is rife with subsidence.

Perhaps this is just getting...

Re: Residential Tower | 26 Court St. | Government Center

I actually doubt that it'd be able to. The site's located due northeast of the Common and I think shadows would only barely fall in that direction on mornings around the summer solstice, if ever.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Thanks for the shots, as always, Beeline- especially those "detail" ones up at top. The protruding rebar would suggest at least one more floor/set of perimeter columns needs to be poured, no?
