Re: Dock Square Parking Garage, 20 Clinton Street

City better kick in some loot. Most of those above grade garages are considered open, so do not have sprinkler systems.
Big cost to add all that.

Re: Assembly Row (Assembly Sq Redevelopment) | Assembly Square | Somerville

Also sounds 100% like cigarettes.
I highly doubtful I'll find a lot of them in there either.

Re: 121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

This was my thought exactly. It hides the good that this approach allowed.

Re: 121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

I usually can't wait to get off the brick portions of the sidewalks in Kendall in the winter. The ice coats the smooth finish much better, and I've tweaked a hip or knee plenty of times hustling to...

Re: 121 Seaport Boulevard | Parcel L2 | Seaport Square

Thanks. I went by 300 Mass Ave. Today to snap a pic if just what you mentioned.
I've brought it up in the past when this same discussion comes up.

I'd post, but since I switched back to Flickr...

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Suffolk Construction is the GC per all info I've ever seen.
The only Direnzo I know around here is a site work company, and not a GC.

Re: Union Point | Former South Weymouth NAS | Weymouth

And a bs one at that since the jackasses in Rockland nixed the reconnection of union Street Rockland to union Street Weymouth like it was before the Navy took the land.

Finally an exit from the stair to nowhere in Courthouse station?

Re: SBWTC /South Boston Waterfront Transportation Center | Seaport

As a reminder. No parking has been lost in the Seaport. All those surface spots still exist in below grade garages. Not sure the net gain, but there is not net loss.

Re: Pier 4 Office Tower | 140 Northern Ave | Seaport

Isn't this the main gripe people have who want better urban planning?
The few inside will love it, while those outside get to look at boring boxes.

I bet it's wonderful to live in Charles River...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

Best view yet.

Now we need this same view and vantage point once a month.
Look what you did to yourself.

Great pics BTW. Thank you!

Re: Allston Yards (Stop and Shop) | 60 Everett St | Allston

D = Diesel. E = electric.
Electric better in so many ways, but requires electrification of the line. Major up front infracost on top of cost of new fleet.

Should be the goal regardless and bite...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

The discussion was macro and you made it micro. You felt it needed to be micro, I disagree. I still do. Doesn't mean I don't agree with plenty you say. Doesn't change what I say in the broader scope...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Not about not liking it. He misrepresents profits versus wages in a very Marxist way. It's also deflection as no one is arguing there are not class differences and everything isn't simple. But, the...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

True, and ownership does not guarantee pay. If you ain't profitable, you don't eat. Not every owner is a millionaire CEO like in the news. They all aspire to be, but they don't all make it.

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Analogous is not a definition.
Everything doesn't need to fit the exact meaning when talking comparisons. People get too caught up in trying to sound smarter than everyone else to realize their is...

Re: BHA Charlestown/Bunker Hill redevelopment

Meh. While it's not profit, it's fairly well analogous. You make more money than you put out paying for all your costs to live, and the left over goes in the bank or is reinvested. The left over is...

Re: Boston (née New Brighton) Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

Most interior projects I work on nowadays are awash in multiple colours. Thankfully since I mostly work in labs. Glad it's not all white on white on white anymore.

Exterior I think is being afraid...

Re: Seaport Parcels M1-M2 | Seaport Sq. | Seaport

That and it doesn't interact with the street at all. It's a big, tall, glass slab. It's an icon and I love it, but if repeated 20 times adjacent in the same neighborhood, it would be awful. It's also...

Re: Seaport Parcels M1-M2 | Seaport Sq. | Seaport

The good news is, all the new buildings have much more pedestrian access at the street level compared to the Massport buildings from the previous decade. Those dedicated loading docks and exhaust...
