Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

I believe "The Mystic" is a name that simultaneously honors the place it's based and complements/works with Wynn's existing brand. Like Encore, it's simple, elegant, and intriguing.

Re: Boston East | 126 Border St | East Boston Waterfront

Portside at East Pier (existing and new phases), Eddy, and Clippership Wharf (u/c) all have retail. Is there a lot of it? No. But I think a case could be made that--aside from waterfront...

Re: "The Beat" | 135 Morrissey (Boston Globe Site) | Dorchester

I was referring to the PNF/project overall. Not the name. A site this prominent and walkable to the T should be a fender redevelopment, not an adaptive reuse of a bygone building that retains WAY too...

Re: Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

The Pierce was originally going to be all rentals, and during the approval process switched to part rentals, part condos. Why? Because there is higher demand now for condos than rentals in the city....

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

The City of LA has a relatively high population density because it has 4 million residents living in a 467 square mile area. Period.

My assertion that Atlanta is not urban is on point: it is not...

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

Going further down the rabbit hole...

City of Atlanta = 133 square miles; 3,547 people/square mile
City of Boston = 48 square miles; 13,903 people/square mile
City of Los Angeles = 467 square...

Re: Amazon HQ2 RFP

Atlanta is only 473,000; and at ~3,500/square mile, it is about 4x less urban than Boston (or Philly for comparison). Metro area size? Comparable. But culture fit? No comparison.

Also, for the record, I've been amused at the way some people talk down the Suffolk Downs site as if it's a bad option, especially against a potential Northern VA site, for example. As the crow...

Re: Columbus Ave Student Housing | 10 Burke St | Northeastern University

Correct, and it was designed as such. The "bridges" connecting each floor are essentially wide enough only for a corridor between the two masses of the building, and are purposefully going to be...
