Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

I no longer question that in "Chelsea MA What's Happening" Facebook group anymore. I just don't..

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Hey All-

It's time for another update. One of the final updates for this project, as anticipated opening is 4/1/18.

This is a rather small update, as there's not much to show, except work at...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Yeah but it doesn't mean it will happen. Other people have asked over the years. (not to be a debbie downer)

I planned on calling my contacts at city hall after service started to make some noise...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

I know at some point the 112 used to use merdian street, as there's a bus stop in Admiral's Hill on Admiral's Way that still says "112 Wellington/Maverick"

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Yes. I actually see the SL3 being used as a faster way to get to the Blue Line. It will take half the time verses existing bus routes.

Can't wait to see what the numbers look like after a few...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

I was tagged in a tweet this morning, it starts Sunday, April 1st. Which is also the start of Spring Schedule.

I knew something was brewing as my buddy who drives the SL says SL3 now appears as a...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Climate.

Their climate is far warmer than ours. The biggest issue I see with the Proterra buses is it's no bueno in cold weather.

Sure it can be done but the technology isn't quite there yet...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Only problem with your diagram. The plans in the Everett Transit Plan have the SL go up B'way to Malden Center, not go to Sullivan.

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

When I saw the mockups years ago.. I thought they were ugly.

Now I see them live.. not too bad. I only wish all the shelters had sides. Oh well. I will ask the PM about that.

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Hey All-

It's time for another update.

As always, lots and lots of progress. More smaller details this time. All the busway and street markings are done. signage has been added everywhere....

Re: Summer St. Gondola

I cringe every time I hear a pitch for this.. a BRT line with dedicated lanes down Summer Street could accomplish the same thing, and wouldn't be as ugly as a gondola. You could build it within a...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Yeah he could. But I will also state that Chelsea has been trying to get FAA and MassPORT meetings about the airplane noise, and it's crickets.

Im pretty sure it would be the same about that ramp...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Yeah its 5-7 minutes rush 7-15 minutes non-rush.

I thin its safe to say its under 10 in rush, and under 15 in non rush.

Same frequency as the 111.

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Yeah I'm kinda disappointed at the lighting for the shared use path. It doesn't seen very 'direct and efficient' and in some a parts, it just uses the busway lights to illuminate the walkway.

I...

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

Re: Silver Line to Chelsea

I think the line there is to make it so there's a wide turning lane to Central Ave.

The entire Eastern Ave/Marginal/Central Ave intersection is being redone. It's not quite done yet.

I know the...
