Re: Chelsea

Keep in mind most people get married at some point around which then increases their purchasing power even further. A couple making a combined 200, 300 or 400K is pretty common around here and only...

Re: What's Happening With Project X?

I am a local resident and I want Amazon. They're going to sop up so much software engineering and management talent it is going to jack up my salary whether I work there or not.

In general though...

Re: Pierce Boston (née The Point )| Boylston St/Brookline Av | Fenway

Someone who apparently bought a unit in this building was bitching about it on Reddit... doesn't sound so great:

Re: Kenmore Square North

This kind of lazy architecture belongs in the Seaport not Kenmore Square.

Re: St. Francis House | 19-story mixed-income tower | Lagrange Street | Chinatown

There was 3 on site when I walked by around 6PM. It's actually kind of ridiculous because it's such a small site.

Re: General Boston Discussion.

Heh... 1 Dalton is only 654 ft according to that map. Odurandina and DHZ's head's are going to explode.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

We should probably continue this in the Worcester thread... the short answer is a question, how has that worked out for Albany?

Worcester was a thriving city that was very independent of Boston up...

Re: Briv

For what it is worth this domain expires (archboston.org) 2018-06-10 and (archboston.com) on 2018-07-29. The loss of the domain is problematic for access, but this site is really the database behind...

Re: Providence developments

Really? It looks like hot garbage. Reminds me of a New Age version of 1 Financial Center in Boston with its shitty ribbon windows except now it has pointless curves!

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

I'm rather fond of the Winthrop Square park. It's a good place to gobble down w Chacarero sandwich on a nice day.

Re: 40 Trinity Place | 426 Stuart Street | Back Bay

Nothing happening here yet. Walked by today on my way to Back Bay Station. Dunks is open, but the art gallery next door is closed up looking.

Re: South Station Tower

You're still going to need to close down platforms for some period of time while construction work is active directly above. You can't have pedestrians directly wandering under spots where multi-ton...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

*Yawn* skyline rant.

The tower design wasn't anything great but the number of additional people it would have added to the downtown core which is fucking dead after 9PM most days would have been...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

The lit up crane is the best part of this project. I really want a tower with ground to top strip lighting now kind of like that one in Houston.

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

It was a stupid requirement. It's not tall enough to deserve one. It's barely taller than the other buildings around it. Not to mention it would eat up tons of internal space for the private elevator...

Re: 115 Winthrop Square | Financial District

In hindsight the Trinity proposal is the one that would have served the city best. A lot of affordable units and the design is no worse than what we are likely to get here. The added economic benefit...
