Re: Columbus Ave Student Housing | 10 Burke St | Northeastern University

Yeah, their statement seemed extremely out of touch with the problems facing college students these days.

Re: Bartlett Yards | 2565 Washington Street | Roxbury

Yeah, these complaints are only valid when the new units are being marketed as "luxury housing".

Being cheap on appearances is perfectly fine when the objective is to create affordable housing...

Re: Housing a Changing City: Boston 2030

If we built enough housing i'm pretty sure it would be over 800,000 by 2030. The housing shortage itself is suppressing demand.

Re: Suffolk Downs Redevelopment

To be fair I think Bezos himself is ideologically libertarian (not conspiracy theorist right winger) but the employees are so liberal they make Boston residents look conservative.

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

Apparently you're the world's only anhydrous man.

Also, 30 ft drop? No fall protection?

Re: Radius Apartments (née The Icon née Western Av Residence) | 530 Western Av | Brig

I don't know why but it irks me that there is only 1 radius here and the rest of the project is just a bunch of 90 degree angles.

Re: NEMA Boston | 399 Congress St. | Seaport

I recently wandered into the r/Boston subreddit. It seems that's where all the Boston Area structural engineers hang out. I just saw a *really* detailed analysis of a picture of ugly decaying...

Re: Do some building materials have better reputations

Yeah, this topic has come up a couple of times, and this has been determined to be the best option.

Also I'm not sure how the price compares currently due to the implementation of steel tariffs.

Re: Boston and surrounding areas housing crisis

If you like to study statistics on this subject as I do, you would find that Boston is still not building nearly enough housing for the jobs being created. That still is the root issue to the problem...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

Ugh. I'm willing to pay the extra money to be less miserable flying though. Here's to hoping Delta or JetBlue come here some day.

How the hell is there not a series of relief valves preventing this from happening?!!! Is natural gas pipeline safety THAT poorly regulated?

Re: Encore Boston Harbor Casino | Everett

Um. I take the bus to Boston. It brings me to South Station. Anything near South Station, including other modes of transportation, is fine by me. As long as I don't have to drive in Boston. I don't...

It's definitely the spa. They seem to not be straying from the tried and true motifs here.

But damn that Popeye is weird.

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

For Boston? The fact that it doesn't have a square/rectangular cross section alone makes it unique.

Also not being clad in a mish-mash of random colors and textures is a plus.

Re: MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

Stick, it's been discussed before. While it's unfortunate, that tower wasn't designed with maintenance in mind. Everything is encapsulated in concrete and not repairable. It was a poor design in the...

Re: Bulfinch Crossing Residential Tower (GCG Phase I) | 50 Sudbury St | Gov't Center

What? If you're talking about Chinese steel we didn't import much from them in the first place.

Anyways, I'm sure if anything it's the labor shortages weighing on any projects in the region.

And by the name of the new owner, I think it's safe to assume they intend to build more lab space in this location.
