Re: Logan Flight Additions

Southwest is trimming Boston in a pretty big way. As of January, service to Milwaukee, Kansas City and Atlanta are cut permanently. Service to Houston Hobby is cut down to Saturday only. They're also...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

I wouldn't say Providence is on a downward trend on the level of Manchester - Providence has its own distinct metro area and business community to draw from, something that Manchester lacks. T.F....

Re: Logan Flight Additions

I'd be curious to see if Delta's SkyTeam partner Air Europa makes a return to Boston, at least on a seasonal basis, with non-stop service to Madrid. They lasted only one season in Boston, but now...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

We're never going to see Qantas serving Boston. Plenty of convenient one-stop options on American via Dallas/Ft. Worth (a tiny local market to Australia, but given the large American hub here, it...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

I was actually surprised at the level of service Bangor has. I am not sure if this is only seasonal levels, but 3 flights to O'Hare for a secondary city in one of the smallest states is impressive.

Re: Foxboro Weekday Service Pilot

There's a large apartment complex that is being built just south, right at the junction of 495 and rte 1. I am sure they're advertising the Foxboro commuter rail stop in their marketing materials. I...

Re: Foxboro Weekday Service Pilot

The Patriots don't have any home Monday Night Football games this year (they're away to the Jets on their lone appearance this season) and only have the single Thursday Night Football game this year....

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

A of right now, no. This will be a tricky project given the sheer size of their operation. What's interesting is that as the terminal B work is done, the piers in terminal C are the most glaring area...

Re: Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

I agree - it's the same as people who buy a house under the flight path of Logan and then complain.

Re: Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

The original plan looks like the massive stack interchanges you see in Houston and Los Angeles. The alternative HS-03 looks like the best of the bunch - too bad it's not done or under construction.

Re: Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

I don't see how they can rebuild, or enhance a key interchange without the use of flyover ramps. There are numerous interchanges in the metro area that could benefit from them and also modest...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

It's pretty amazing that 8 years ago, Japan Airlines announced Tokyo Narita to Boston flights (which commenced in April 2012) and now today Boston has several non-stop flights to Asia. Japan Airlines...

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

Ideally 93, from the 3/93 split in Braintree to the Mass Ave exit, would be 4 full travel lanes in each direction, with a full breakdown lane on both the left and right shoulders and then down the...

Re: Unbuilt roads around metro Boston

This should have been built 30 years ago. The fact that the state never did anything to upgrade that interchange is awful. You have 95, a major highway, going down to a single lane and then into a...

Re: Possible Boston soccer stadium | Discussion

One of the biggest issues, from a noise standpoint, is how open Gillette is. Seattle was smart when they built their stadium - they put in those noise amplifying roof coverings. Look at all the...

Re: Possible Boston soccer stadium | Discussion

One of the biggest benefits to the way Philadelphia setup their stadium complex is that they'll never have to worry about land to build a new stadium, or new area. Simply put the new stadium or arena...

Re: Logan Flight Additions

Once Southwest leaves terminal A, that will give Delta 20 or 21 gates. It'll be interesting to see how they're able to make up to 200 flights a day work, especially given the that some gates get...

Thomas Cook cut service to Boston after last year. You can add them to the list along with Air Europa, Air Berlin and Eurowings as European carriers who have come and gone from Boston recently.

Re: Seaport Neighborhood - Infill and Discussion

While the height situation is not ideal, it is what it is. Logan airport is far too important to the city, metro area and region. Compared to how this area looked as recent as 15 years ago, this is a...

Re: State Street HQ | One Congress | Bulfinch Crossing | West End

While the sign may look a little meh (I don't think it's that bad) this project is going to be one of the top projects in the city in a very long time. The ugly garage is essentially coming down and...
