Of course he does. And I have a right to point out that he’s being tedious.

Please don’t. Its rather tedious, like listening to someone who really hates dancing.

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

This is a very good point, if I’m reading you correctly. Families are far less likely to take mass transit, in general, so they’re going to be taking ubers or taxis. I know, as someone who has driven...

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

I gotta call that out. A family flying with kids is not nearly as unique a situation as what you describe.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I was imagining this exactly with the new cars in mind.

Thanks for the link! Didn’t realize it was an annoying topic though, haha.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

This question could go into the ‘reasonable transit pitch’ thread, but its more just curiosity at the moment: Does anyone know how feasible it would be to add platform screen doors to the stations?...

Re: TransitMatters Regional Rail Plan

Yes please! If this forum had an ‘agree’ button, I’d use it right now. Hell, even if we just kept hijacking this thread for NSRL, it would still be hijacking, and that is something that is on their...

Re: Solar Window Blinds

Its only game changing if the blinds are cheap enough for both production and consumer. Otherwise, its just a way for people to act like they’re making a difference.

Re: New Red and Orange Line Cars

Well, they’re increasing the total number of cars by about 25%, and say they’re increasing capacity by 50%, so, it must be.

Do we know what the per-car passenger capacity of the current and new cars are?

Re: TransitMatters Regional Rail Plan

Except companies like Siemens actually do have electric power transmission systems, and they seem to consider that some sort of remote generation is best.

Re: TransitMatters Regional Rail Plan

The energy density of batteries will bever be sufficient to meet the needs of locomotives. If they’re to be electric, transmission is the only practical way.

Re: Local Politics Thread

The rich pay a higher percentage of income in taxes. You can disagree with the fairness of it, but for much of the lower income brackets, there’s just not much there to cut.

Re: TransitMatters Regional Rail Plan

Now, just to clarify: since it mentions revenue service, this would mean actual electric units on these lines by 2022 if this were to be done, correct? Not just saying "Oh, we've electrified the...

Re: Local Politics Thread

The wealthy are taxpayers. Also, I'm not wealthy, but I'm getting a very nice reduction in taxes. You can make a very solid argument that the current federal budget is unsustainable, but not that...

I know I don't want to get involved in this, but aren't about 20% of the seaport and Amazon threads just Rifleman whining about corporate tax breaks?

Re: Where is....?

Speaking of RR.net, I was wondering something (I only pop on there a couple times a year). What is their beef with the Urban Ring? Did it just suck all the O2 out of the MBTA forum, or was there...

Re: Crazy Transit Pitches

I'm not sure that would be the case. First, I doubt London is particularly less corrupt than Massachusetts, just going off pure gut instinct. Second, electrification can be done gradually. Third,...
