Re: The Huntington | 252, 258, and 264 Huntington Avenue

Off topic, but the new tax law's effect on mortgage interest write-offs is generally WAY overstated. The only change is that you can't deduct your interest on new mortgage balances beyond $750k.

Re: Boston (née New Brighton) Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

It's a leprechaun -- nobody cares.

A little history (from Youtube):
-Before 1950 there was no leprechaun, just a shamrock.
-The first leprechaun showed up in 1950, and variants of it were used...

Re: The Lucas | 136 Shawmut Ave | South End

I absolutely love the way this turned out. So much better than the renders. I can't think of another project in this cycle that has exceeded my expectations as much as this.

My primary criticism...

Re: Boston (née New Brighton) Landing | New Balance Complex | Brighton

I agree that that signage looks bad, but one consideration is likely that practically everyone who sees this will see it from the Pike. From the Pike trench is a much lower viewing angle, so if logo...

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

In the big picture I'm happy with what we're getting here, but I would love to see a neo-brutalist tower that's basically this without the cladding...

Re: Seaport Square (Formerly McCourt Seaport Parcels)

There have even been studies (https://www.smartcitiesdive.com/ex/sustainablecitiescollective/new-evidence-city-trees-reduce-crime/42781/) suggesting that trees reduce crime! Baltimore neighborhoods...

Re: North-South Rail Link

Re: One Bromfield | 1 Bromfield Street | Downtown

Right, I am fairly certain that the landlord has made zero effort to fill those spaces in the past couple of years.

If your goal is to tear a building down, the last thing you want to do is fill...

Re: MassMutual | 10 Fan Pier Blvd | Fan Pier Parcel E | Seaport

I agree that a hotel here would be great, but how are office and residential buildings with ground level retail plus a stand-alone museum not mixed use?

Yup, One Harbor Shore Drive should be a...

Can we merge this thread with this one (http://www.archboston.org/community/showthread.php?p=313403)?

Also, I like this version more than the original render:

Re: Four Seasons Tower @ CSC | 1 Dalton Street | Back Bay

I'm looking forward to the trademark suit from the local Faneuil Hall Tex Mex joint (http://zumatexmexgrill.com/)! But seriously, I wouldn't be surprised to see this open under a different name.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Platform screens only work if all of your cars are standardized. They're a nice safety feature and they can improve performance, but at the end of the day they're just not a necessity.

There are...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End
