Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

The glass is coming up so fast that I'd believed that the top had to be basically done, but now we learn there are 6 more floors yet to be poured before topping off? Wow.

Re: Green Line Reconfiguration

(Does that include Greycliff?)

Maybe demand is choked off by how slow the B is the rest of the way in/out? How much new ridership--beyond just giving the 2k better service-- could be stimulated at...

Re: Assembly Sq <-> Casino Footbridge

We had one of those, just tenths of a mile away, at Wellington...a horizontal elevator from garage to station. Problem with those things remain weatherproofing (winter/rust) and maintenance. ...

Re: Assembly Sq <-> Casino Footbridge

Here's the proposed bridge viewed from the Assembly side, slighly upstream of the Newbury-/Rockport bridge. JumboBuc's link will give you more details:...

Re: Wynn Everett Casino | Everett

How, exactly, should a casino look like it belongs here? Is there some obvious "Boston Casino" motif what Wynn missed? Sheathed in brick like an oversized clone of Faneuil Hall?

The reason it...

Re: Biking in Boston

Somebody's going to have to pay for better access from Assembly to the new athletic fields, which, today are only accessible via passing under the Orange Line bridge as it heads off to Wellington.

Re: Winter 2017 / 2018; MBTA.

I'd say WSWS made a complete catalog of all indignities suffered by the rail riding masses-- promises broken and services suspended, but was useless when it came to root causes (didn't report that a...

Re: I-90 Interchange Improvement Project & West Station | Allston

The City (or maybe the State) has already signed the funding deal that gave BU a veto on cross-traffic in exchange for BU's funding contribution.

It was a bad deal, but if BU has come to its...

Re: Comments due Friday

So the silly thing is that the plans Tier 1 of projects include:
- South Station Expansion
- South Station Tower 1 upgrades
- South Coast Rail

By what mental process are these ruled into top...

Re: Comments due Friday

If you've done this, you might tweak it and ask for West Station to be included in the 2040 State Rail plan (you can also advocate for West Station & Electrification as down payments on NSRL)

Re: North-South Rail Link

If you think NSRL should be "worked on" between now and 2040, please submit this as a comment to the Mass State Rail Plan 2018, which is now taking comments.

Re: North-South Rail Link

If you want NSRL seriously studied, add your comment to the state rail plan. I don't have the comments email, but either I will update here when I do or some kind person will post it here.

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

I'd hope that the Silver Line to Chelsea and all-door boarding can change people's minds on buses.

Buses would also be ideal to see the line extended one more stop westward to serve the Blue Hill...

Re: Natural Gas (LNG, Pipelines, & Distribution)

While true for many decades, this is becoming less the case as new generation of cold climate Air Source Heat Pumps (ccASHP) have been developed that are still efficient (an expert I know says, that...

Re: Kenmore Square North

Kenmore, like a mini version of Times Square, is a great place for a large, garish, Iconic Thing®, useful in wayfinding and placemaking. I would never want to lose that.

The natural,...
