Re: Emerson College - Little Building Addition + Renovation | 80 Boylston St | Downto

As I recall, they were required to use hot rivets in the Longfellow Bridge reconstruction... but that was (hopefully) a one-and-done occasion.

Re: Reasonable Transit Pitches

Oh, yes. Please. I'm honestly surprised they haven't already- it's a very useful location and it looks like they could do it pretty easily from my admittedly layman perspective

Re: MIT East Campus - Kendall Square Gateway | Cambridge

I do think there's a gradient here... but I also think it's very (read: too) subtle.

Re: Parcel P (Foundation Medicine) | 400 Summer Street | Seaport

I think Adjmi does a great job and I actually adore the design here- but I'd rather see a project that includes the promised performing arts center and grocery store, even if a design accommodating...

Re: Boston Bombing Memorial | Boylston St | Back Bay

I think that it's important to keep in mind that these memorials were designed with careful and significant insight from the victims' families. While they are not the only people affected by that...

Re: Hood Business Park | 480-570 Rutherford Avenue | Charlestown

I know this will be a net positive for the area, but it's so... boring.

Re: Goddard House | 201 S. Huntington | Jamacia Plain

I do like the bronze building. The metallic shingles going up on the other are much more coppery and clash horribly with the existing facade. I'm hoping there will be some street trees or other...

Re: 1000 Boylston Street | MassDOT Parcel 15 | Back Bay

900 feet from the western mouth of the Pru tunnel brings us almost exactly to the western boundary of Parcel 12, per Google Maps, so I would think so.

Re: What's everyone drinking...?

Forgive me- I'm not much of a beer drinker.

However, I am big on local ciders and would heartily recommend:

Stormalong Cider (Sherborn, MA) has great sweet and dry ciders along with...

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square

I adore Gang Studios' work and I'm very excited to see this tower rise. If it gets built, it will immediately be one of our highest-caliber modern high rises. I can see it getting simplified a bit...

Re: Regional Rail (including North-South Rail Link)

My understanding is that it's important to maintain the D for the Green Line because the Riverside yard is absolutely necessary for the entire GL system.

I'm sure F-Line or another of our transit...

Re: The Hub on Causeway (née TD Garden Towers) | 80 Causeway Street | West End

As a whole, the project really is impressive from the street. Something I hadn't grasped from the renderings is that the second floor on the office podium is double-height. It's very visible and very...

Re: Bay Village Apartment Tower | 212 Stuart St. | Bay Village

Provided there's no changes here, I think that a decent facade analogue is rising in Lower Manhattan at 25 Park Row. Just to give an idea of what we might see.

Re: Downtown Crossing

I love the paint job but I'm also just glad to see the building taken care of- it's one of only 4 cast-iron buildings in the city.
