Re: Amazon HQ2 selected - and not Boston

Re: Boston Freedom Wheel | Long Wharf? | Waterfront

Everybody has a Ferris wheel this day.

Lets do something unique. A reverse wheel. That is, one that takes you underwater.

Pros:
Wont block any views.
NIMBys cant complain.
100% unique...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Essentially, the Pope plan was that a shit ton of suburban people would drive to the stations with the most parking, pack the train, and thus there was no point stopping on the way as no one could...

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square

False. They do a fantastic job, and people dislike them because of that.

False. MUTCD has very specific formulas for yellow light timing, based on the speed limit, intersection width, and...

They could always do what SEPTA did for the pope.

"Um we cant handle crowds so we're actually going to shut down service instead of increase service, thanks bye"

Regular Septa:...

Re: General MBTA Discussion Thread

Evening commute is always more spread out than the morning commute. Its easier to stay late at work or catch a dinner than wake up at the ass crack of dawn.

But look, the current parade hours are...

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

I think a tax in the tunnel for thru-traffic is justified to pay for the damn thing.

An easy way to do downtown congestion pricing is to add a fee on what is already paid for - parking and ride...

Re: Crossroads at Kenmore | 560 Commonwealth Ave | Kenmore Square

I would also like to see how this impacts bus travel times. From my experience, the last leg of the 57 into Kenmore is usually speedy. Requiring multiple turns and lights would surely add time to the...

Streetsblog posted an article about it, written by the designer.

Re: Congestion toll in Boston?

I didnt see if it was mentioned, but as of last Saturday, all Uber/Lyft etc and Taxi rides in Manhattan have an added $2.50 or $2.75 fee to go to the MTA.

Re: Logan Airport Capital Projects

Not if it requires a fare like pretty much every other airport-transit APM connection in the country. JFk and Newark charge $5.50 btw.
